Mosquitoes were terrible but very convenient to I70.

So let me say that this review is just for the dump station. I have stayed in the camp ground and it's very nice and we use it on a regular basis. It's about 20 minutes from our house. We recently got back from Colorado and we ended up boon docking a few nights. I decided to try and dump here and the host was not on site didn't answer the phone and the dump location was locked.

If I had stayed in the campground and was trying to dump I would have been pretty disappointed.

Tried to get a spot at Browns Creek but the only spot we found was next to a really rude lady that was trying to hold several spots for a group. Ended up finding a spot at Raspberry. Great quiet spot away from other campers. The only knock on it is that there was some road traffic. Great place If you are in the area white water rafting or fishing.

Came here to stay a few days. Saw a moose while driving into the area. There is a dispersed site before reaching soap creek. The kids loved wading in the creek and the views were great. Hiked up into the wilderness area. There is a pay area that is a great plan b but the free area is just as nice. There were several other campers but the area is fairly large. Has vault toilets that were a little stinky but have seen worse. Go up the road and AT&T service is accessible

We arrived afternoon on a Thursday we found a good spot toward the top with open views of the lake and mountains. We were pretty exposed to the wind and no trees for shade. There were several campers around with a couple that were within 50 yards. Great location to leave and checkout independence pass and the town of Twin Lakes. Leadville isn’t too far and Buena Vista is fairly close.

Writing this from the camp site so our stay isn’t finished. We arrived on a Sunday and will leave on Thursday. Very clean vault bathrooms which are cleaned twice a day. Staff seem very nice. Very convenient to the bike trail to Frisco, Dillion and Breckinridge. Views are awesome and for being close to I70 pretty quiet. Only complaint is that other campers in the area started their generators at 7 am. We were in site 13 but sites 21 & 22 are on the water and have great views. Overall a great campsite.

So I reserved a “riverside” site but it’s not all that accessible from my site. I have a 24ft camper but tow vehicle has to park beside the site. Wish I would have looked at satellite of the camp ground before booking. Some nicer spacious sites, but this site isn’t what I expected. As usual have met some really nice people.

We took our new trailer out for a quick one night stay. Binder was a good choice. 15 minutes from home, but had some stuff for the kids to do and it was close to stores to pick up things that should've been in the camper but wasn't. Met some nice people and had a quiet night. Would and will come back.

I reserved my spot via the MO State Parks website and looked at the map thought I picked a decent spot near the water. I chose the state park due to its location near some property I was taking my kids to for youth deer season. I should have scouted out spots and not depend on photos. Site 29 was the worst spot in the entire campground. I tried to set up and could not level the camper because of slope & drop. We pulled out and went to a different vacant spot. I leveled and disconnected the camper. I found out that they lock the electrical boxes and there was no camp host or ranger to unlock them after hours or on weekends. Luckily there was a family campsite next to ours that had two electric pedestals and the campers there allowed me to plug in and run an extension cord. So long story short we made it work and everything turned out okay, just be sure of quality of camp site don't trust the website and word of warning there were several campsites that would have been a bad choice. Also, if you are looking for a quiet weekend don't choose the last weekend of October. It was the opening weekend of duck season in the North Zone of Missouri and this state park is open for waterfowl hunting. You will wake up at 7 a.m. to gun fire from the lake. I'm a hunter so it didn't bother me, but if you didn't know, it would be annoying. Side note they have Wi-Fi access, and it is actually pretty good.

We stayed in c loop and had a great time. We were in a site that people walked through to get to the swimming area. Had a big group that were there to party camped next to us. Didn’t quiet down till after 3 am and at 1:30 there were people in our site. Will camp here again. Nice area, but can’t control everything.
