“Fish the Picturesque Lake!”
Looking for a place to get a watersports fix? Long Branch State Park’s three boat ramps provide access to sprawling and picturesque Long Branch Lake. Want to get some fishing in? The park offers some of the best bass fishing in northern Missouri and its swimming beach a is a favorite for families. More than 80 campsites make the park a perfect place for overnight stays. And the park’s native prairie offers peaceful hiking opportunities. Bee Trace Trail gives hikers a chance to experience several different landscapes on one trail. The first landscape is native prairie landscape, which once covered a good portion of Missouri. The trail then travels through savanna landscape and into woodlands. The Bee Trace Peninsula contains the 384-acre Bee Trace Natural Area, offering impressive views of these different terrains plus some great views of the lake. This trail contains some steep hills and water crossings without bridges. The trail is mowed grass in most area with some spots of dirt tread. An area along the trail is open for camping by backpackers; open fires are not allowed in the backpack camp.

On our way west we stopped off here for an over night. Wow! Were we surprised. Great little campground near a lake. Some of the site are huge and level, like site 2. Back the 32 TT and F150 into the concrete site and still had plenty of room. Camp host was very accommodating and the shower houses were real clean. AT&T reception was great, 4 bars LTE. To bad we only stayed one night one of the nicest state parks I’ve seen.

This is not a one nighter. At $28 we had the number one prime spot. We rode scooters to town and all over the park. Deer, elk, quail (bob white) and a million rabbits. Great nature park, fishing and swimming and it’s a Corp of engineering lake. Ray and Nancy are great host and very Helpful. Sites range from $21 to $28. Even a walk in camping spots on the lake j

We love Long Branch State Park. 2 thumbs up to Ray and Nancy the best camp host we have ever had. We are so thankful to have gotten to know them. They are very helpful, friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Ray and Nancy make this state park even better than it already is. We brought our grandkids and they had a blast at the lake. First time paddle boarding for them all. Great state park in Missouri.

Wonderful host, beautiful lake, spacious pad, great swimming beach (too cold fior swimming), very nice bathroom and hot showers. Ice and firewood available. The asphalt pads need repair/replacing but the cements ones are level, wide, and long enough for bigger RVs.

Back again and grateful for an experience similar to last time. Amazing camp host, clean bathrooms/shower, well cared for grounds, exceptional views, great hiking and access to the lake. We stayed in both an electric site and a non-electric site...couldn’t leave. This is a gem of a place to stay in MO.

On a slope facing the lake, the campground has both a newer section with excellent level concrete pads and an older section with deteriorated definitely un level asphalt pads. We had the later which made the stay less enjoyable.
The setting is wooded. The flush toilets and showers are located at the top of the slope. There are also vault toilets available.

Tent camping trip, traveling with no reservations. Called park office in middle of day, they advised should have no problem on weekdays, the weekend is booked. Camped on Monday night, got in about 9 pm. Camp host very helpful and park staff the next morning were very friendly to talk with. Clean campground and showers. Heard Bob White quail in evening and morning. Barred Owls all night. Would stay again.

I was a little disappointed with the quality of the sites. The newer 30 amp sites, just as you enter the campground are on nice long, level, concrete pads but they’re in full sun. The shaded area, have broken asphalt and seriously unlevel and many of them pretty short. A good number of them are designated family sites and have two pads, two pedestals. Not many adequate choices for a single unit, 30 amp unless you have lots of leveling gear. I did not check out the 50 amp section. I was there on a Sunday night and the site had a fair amount of trash scattered around it. The big plus was they had wifi.

Only spent 2 nights here but enjoyed it. Our site had more of a modern concrete pad- most of the sites are asphalt, not very level. All the sites seem pretty spread out, so you're not on top of your neighbors.
The trails are nice, beach is excellent. Camp Hosts were great. Macon is a 5 minute drive, has all your amenities for gas, food, etc. On site marina has basics as well.
