This was a great place for a good night of sleep. We didn't know what town we were going to end up in for the night and found this place with a quick google search. It was affordable, clean, safe, quiet, and the front desk man was super friendly and informative! There was also a grocery store right next door, and a restaurant within a two minute walk as well. Highly recommended.

Loved loved loved this beach! I am from a coastal town myself and grew up collecting and finding all sorts of beach treasures, so this felt like heaven to me. I spent about an hour here and wanted to spend the whole day. I couldn't resist collecting a handful of beautiful tumbled treasures. I found the most beautiful pieces of beach glass I have ever seen. Let me tell you how hard it was to throw it all back, after I thought about it for a minute I realized if I just dropped the pieces back on the sand the next heartless person who visited would probably just pick it up and take it home. So what did I do? Hiked to the edge of a sea cliff and threw them as far as I could into the crashing waves. It felt so good to know that I hopefully "saved" a few more treasures from going home with visitors that day.

Yes it is sad people are taking it home with them, there is too much negativity with the reviews and peoples opinions to take or not to take. Yes it was trash at one point. It was a dump, who would want to go visit a dump on their vacation? Not many people. But after many years the ocean tumbled around all the glass, car parts, silverware, and lamps, and created these beautiful little treasures. By doing so it created an attraction and tourist destination making this beautiful town a little busier and boosting their economy. It is bad for people to take, because there wont be a sight for the next group of visitors. Unfortunately there will always be people taking and people hurting because people are being gluttonous. It will always be like that. Go visit this beautiful beach and feel free to treasure hunt! But please return your treasures back to the ocean before you leave.

Side note- another fun activity is to see all the old metal, tires, cars, and plastic that are now embedded into the (most likely) rusty metal sea cliff. It makes a great game of eye spy.

We drove through as we were on the Avenue of the Giants. The forest is beautiful! Our favorite part was actually going down Bull Creek Road. That road was beyond beautiful. It felt as if you were actually in the forest as you were driving down the road not driving past it, if that makes sense... This road I liked even more than the Avenue of the Giants. On Bull Creek Road, there is a road on the left that leads you to a creek and some hiking trails, I highly recommend taking this detour and hiking around, the attraction there is called Big Tree and the hiking trails are extremely easy ( once you get over the creek) there are no hills at all, just flat land. We spent only a few hours at the State Park and that was plenty for us to explore.
