While it is really cool to see it is also difficult too. It’s located on the side of a steep mountain on a curve and there really isn’t anywhere you can park to look at it or take pictures. I would love to see this place opened to the public someday.
Nice place to spend some time and have a picnic
Every time I end up in Dayton I have to go here with my friends, it is tradition. The food is good and prices are reasonable
Good sandwiches, burgers, and cheesecake
Tried the Frisket, which is a French toast biscuit. Cute little breakfast place.
Saint Luke’s Memorial Episcopal Church was built in 1873. It was dedicated to the memory of a 7-year-old girl, Nina Craigmiles, who died on October 18, 1871, when the buggy she was riding in was hit by a train.
The Gothic Revival-style church was designed by architect Peter J. Williamson and
features stained glass windows, wooden arches with intricate carvings, and a 3-story bell tower that contains a bell that is rung nine times after the opening voluntary at the beginning of each service, three peals each in honour of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. In addition to the bell, an electric carillon that plays the Westminster Chimes on the quarter hours. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
Generous portions, great food. I had the brisket burger and it was fantastic
Interested quick stop when you are on a road trip. There is a restaurant behind/beside it that is poplar named after the display.
Beautiful spot. A little bit off the beaten path but worth the detour.
Nice boardwalk to explore. There is a couple pretty ponds and a very neat predator bird preserve. They usually will have a couple different kinds of owls, hawks, and a bald eagle. Would be a nice spot for a picnic and break while Road tripping.
