The marked position is a little off. He is closer to town center. Almost hidden in trees between buildings. Cute and worth the photo stop and a stretch.
Very cute little station that obviously has been well cared for. It has some very cool signs and displays inside to look at.
Very clean and easy to use. Didn’t see a clubhouse or anything but extremely well kept. If you make reservations on line your site won’t activate until 30 mins before the time you specified for your arrival. Keep the email because it has the codes you need for trash, etc. sites are fairly close but its designed for quick overnight stays.
Pretty cool to see. We were in our Motorhome and towing a Jeep. Parking is plentiful but not roomy enough for a long RV to turn around. Use caution if towing.
Don’t waste your time. There’s a bunch of houses in the neighborhood and there’s absolutely no markings to show you which house or why it’s on this list as a stop.
We had a lot of trouble finding a place to stay between Hico and Stephenville for this trip. Most of the campsites in the area did not seem to be very responsive. The woman running this site seemed very responsive and was able to get us in on short notice. Fairly simple and straightforward campsite with somewhere between 24 and 30 sites. all gravel roads and sites. We were just in for a quick night stay so didn’t look around much but did notice that there were a lot of horses around the property. Only issue we had was the row we were assigned had a grade to it that made leveling difficult. Otherwise i would have rated the site higher. I would stay again if passing through but would request a different row than the one nearest the entrance. Its right on Hwy 281 so there is a bit of road noise but its convenient.
We saw this restaurant in another listing for our campsite and tried to eat there. It has closed and is for sale.
Nice, very clean. Concrete pads and roads but right beside I-40. Bit of road noise. Small pool and rec center.
Beautiful building along 66. Well worth the stop for the nostalgia. Lots of other period buildings in the area.
Cute stop in a cute town that time has been cruel to. The station is on the left side of the west bound lanes of 66. The highway is a set of one way roads a block apart. At the corner of first and Gray. Lots of old buildings to see.
