We stopped here on the way back from Vancouver with our pups for a nice camping experience. We had tried to reserve a campsite online and by phone and were told there were plenty of sites available as first come first serve. We arrived about 2 hours later and struggled to find any sites that were close to amenities and that weren't shared sites.

We were fortunate to find one of the last sites but ended up sharing it with another couple later on. We felt that it wasn't worth the money we did pay for a site. The ground was rock hard, packed gravel, and easily bent our tent pegs. The potable water pump was far from the site making it difficult to get water for cooking or cleaning, there was limited privacy from other sites altogether making this camping experience subpar.

The hike to Nairn Falls was a gorgeous hike and relatively quiet. The path was well maintained but got quite rocky at the very end which could make it difficult for people with mobility issues. The view of the falls was beautiful, but getting pictures was difficult as there is a LARGE YELLOW sign that is placed on the fence right in front of the falls, which was pretty disappointing.

There were a couple little pathway offshoots that led down to the river which was a nice, relaxing experience with gorgeous blue water. This was a great hike to take our pups on to stretch their legs.

Vogue and Mila rate the campground at 1 paw up out of 4, but they rate the Nairn Falls hike at 4 paws up!

This campground is AMAZING! The scenery was next to none, the size of the individual campsites are GIGANTIC, plenty of trees and greenery between each site for privacy, it cooled off nicely in the evening from the cool creek breeze.

The sound of the creek throughout the evening was very calming and refreshing and if you like trains, there was a train running across the creek fairly often throughout our stay. If you are not a fan of the sound of trains, choose another campground or choose a site towards the back of the campground to have more of a sound barrier.

You choose a campsite that is not reserved or has a tag on it's marker, set up camp and the park officers/workers will come by to collect payment. You also have to pay for bundles of firewood, so carrying plenty of cash is an asset especially if you are spending several nights.

The park attendants drove around quite frequently to check if we needed wood and were very friendly. Definitely our favourite stay on our entire trip from Saskatoon to Vancouver. Will definitely be stopping in again!

We stopped here on our road trip from Saskatoon to Vancouver with our pups in August 2016. It is a MUST SEE!

The road to the falls parking lot is bit challenging if you are driving a larger vehicle as there are very sharp switchbacks. There is signage to warn drivers about these conditions- TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY! Small cars or SUVS are fine, but drive carefully.

The views are stunning driving to the falls and once you arrive. We did not do the hike to the falls as we were camping in their backwoods camp site with a beautiful view.

If you are wanting to camp, bring cash to pay for your campsite as there is not a park booth to pay at. There is approximately 500m-1km to walk to reach the campground so be prepared to lug your gear. There are some carts available to transport your gear but they are limited and usually spoken for for several minutes to an hour, so lay claim if you can. Not all the campsites have fire pits so bring cooking equipment just in case you aren't able to get one. The ground of the campsites was hard packed gravel and can do a number on your tent pegs if you are lighter utility pegs. There is a facility in the centre of the campground for potable water and a shed for food storage which is required for bear safety..

We encountered a storm when we began setting up our tent, if you see the cloud rolling over the peaks of the mountains, HAUL ASS! The storm clouds showed up and we were pelted with rain and heavy winds within 5 minutes without having our tent pegged down fully or our equipment inside the tent! Mother Nature is wicked in the valley should you encounter her.

My friend Teanna and I took our two lovely dogs for a road trip from Saskatoon to Vancouver in August 2016 and this was our first pit stop!

It was a beautiful destination to stop but it was EXTREMELY busy. It's definitely a place we would recommend, just be prepared for large amounts of people.

The hike to the falls is gorgeous but it was almost overshadowed by the narrow pathway that you had to take. It was distracting to have to weave in and out of people and made us feel as though we had to rush through the hike to get out of the way.

Overall we were very pleased with the experience and LOVED the atmosphere for our dogs. The ice cream stand near the entrance of the hiking path were very welcoming and gave our pups treats as a reward for good behaviour!
