“Excellent overnight stop”

Just 20 minutes north of Whistler, and located within the boundaries of the Village of Pemberton, just 5 minutes from Pemberton town center, is Nairn Falls Park. This park provides a good base camp for exploring Whistler, the Pemberton Valley or nearby Garibaldi Provincial Park. It is an excellent overnight stop before continuing onto the Duffey Lake Road or points north or south. The falls are 60 m high and a 1.5 km hiking trail will take you to the viewpoint.

We stopped here on the way back from Vancouver with our pups for a nice camping experience. We had tried to reserve a campsite online and by phone and were told there were plenty of sites available as first come first serve. We arrived about 2 hours later and struggled to find any sites that were close to amenities and that weren't shared sites.

We were fortunate to find one of the last sites but ended up sharing it with another couple later on. We felt that it wasn't worth the money we did pay for a site. The ground was rock hard, packed gravel, and easily bent our tent pegs. The potable water pump was far from the site making it difficult to get water for cooking or cleaning, there was limited privacy from other sites altogether making this camping experience subpar.

The hike to Nairn Falls was a gorgeous hike and relatively quiet. The path was well maintained but got quite rocky at the very end which could make it difficult for people with mobility issues. The view of the falls was beautiful, but getting pictures was difficult as there is a LARGE YELLOW sign that is placed on the fence right in front of the falls, which was pretty disappointing.

There were a couple little pathway offshoots that led down to the river which was a nice, relaxing experience with gorgeous blue water. This was a great hike to take our pups on to stretch their legs.

Vogue and Mila rate the campground at 1 paw up out of 4, but they rate the Nairn Falls hike at 4 paws up!
