This felt like camping on a crowded farm right next to the highway. The sites were grassy and clean, and amenities abundant (showers, laundry, etc.), but we didn't enjoy it much.
Absolutely awesome. Totally worth the time it takes to drive out to it. A great place to picnic, but we also recommend giving yourself at least an hour there because it is a lot of fun to explore the dunes. We went in mid-September and the temperature outside was great--not too hot at all.
This was a nice place to stay the night. The lake is gorgeous and the campsites are green. The site has showers, clean bathrooms, fire pits, and water, and is close to the highway but far enough you can't hear it. Our only real mishap was that the prices online didn't match the price when we got there, but it wasn't a huge enough difference for it to matter.
