Very tight sites for larger RVs, poor grounds maintenance, I.e. sites need bushes, overhanging vegetation, and grasses trimmed. A 30’ long site probably is at the grass level. Deduct 6’ for trees, limbs and overhanging branches that will hit a 30’ camper. Bath houses are clean and tidy.
A nice small city operated campground. Tidy, large asphalt sites, no mud. Marina is connected but around a fence.
The camp attendant wears many hats and is at times not in the office but she always left a number to reach her with. She was very helpful and friendly.
Public baths and showers very nice. June 2018
Convenient to Bardstown and the KY Bourbon Trail.
Extremely tight park to navigate and get your camper into a site. Electrical pedestals can require 60’ of cord and 50’ of water hose.
Dump station is at an incline making it difficult to get tanks empty without unhitching to lower the trailer tongue.
Note: some sites had new 50 amp electrical pedestals installed closer to the sites. Confirm before making your reservations.
There are several extended stay residents there. Park supervision was scarce, people did not clean up after dogs and kids run wild.
Won’t be going back.
Great and beautiful lakefront sites! Beautiful sunsets!
Shower house is badly in need of renovation. Sites are large, quiet and neat. Larger rigs (35’ and bigger) may have difficulty getting into some of the sites. Dump station is a tight curve and has a curb capable of cutting trailer tires if the driver cuts it too tightly.
Dusty street and driveways. Alligators in the lagoon that feeds to the Myaka River.
Tidy, and quiet. Sites are amply sized. Watch for trees with low branches.
Quiet, remote, jungle like, and friendly! Spacious sites for all sizes of campers. Gravel/ sand pads. Magnolia loop 1 has full hook ups. We stayed on Magnolia loop 2. Chiefland is a small town about 8 miles away with a Winn Dixie and Walmart, a few car washes, restaurants and gas stations.
WiFi is non existent at the campground except at the concession stand. TV channels are very limited!
A nice swimming hole exists in the river near the concession. Canoes, kayaks are available for rent and a pontoon boat tour is also available.
Well done! Somber, informative and capturing.
Leaves you feeling and wondering how a community has overcome an overwhelming loss!
A nice RV park with full hook ups. Many seasonal campers here. Activities for all ages, pretty stream on one side of the park. Most sites are pull thru.
A great location to do a group gathering so those that don't own RVs can rent a cabin. Didn't see any tents. Noisy sites near the road. Try to avoid those. Nearby Waynesville has some nice shopping, art and craft beers. White water rafting and old motorcycle museum are all close.
A charming older campground that's been around and apparently loved by those that have been caring for the park over the years!
Unbelievable views of Lake Superior! Tents and small tear-drop type campers get waterfront sites. Larger RVs and travel trailers get one row back with gorgeous views. It may not be heaven on earth but it is Gods Country! Peaceful, quiet and very pleasant place to kick back, relax, take a walk on the beach, or ride your bike. Scenic car rides all around. Spend a day touring the Keweenaw Peninsula to Michigan's northernmost point at Copper Harbor. Be sure to see the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse.
Can't wait to go back
Very large, tidy and well run. Very shaded therefore sandy/ gritty ground around camper. A camp space for all needs! Would stay here again. Full timer spaces evident and are kept uncluttered and neat.
