If you are working in the area and just needed a place to park your RV then this park would probably be okay.

When you reserve a spot on Campspot you must agree to and sign a list of Terms and Conditions (Park Rules), and there are a lot of rules, but we didn’t see any evidence of any being enforced. This was one of the worse parks we have ever been in for people not cleaning up after their dogs. At least most of the dogs kept on a leash, except for one that was loose and tried to attack me and my dog. There is also a $25.00 pet fee, not sure what that is for, but it is included in your charges. When you arrive, you must call the number on the sign to get the gate code to get in. We were told when we arrived to go to our spot, and someone would bring our paperwork. We never got any type of paperwork and there was not an office. They are building a new office complete with showers and a laundry room that will be nice, but it had not been completed. There didn’t appear to be any on site management, so I guess that is one reason the rules are not really enforced.

The speed limit was 5 MPH, but very few people followed the speed limit, we were parked on the main road and had people drive past our RV doing at least 40 to 45 MPH which raised a lot of dust.
There are a lot of RVs with a lot of junk, furniture, old motorcycles, cars, and even mattresses piled up around their RV.

We planned on staying there for a month through Christmas and New Years, but after a couple of weeks we decided we needed to be someplace nicer. The park is not close to anything, it’s about 25 miles to anything in downtown San Antonio and there is not really anything close to the park except for a couple of gas stations.

There is no Wi-Fi

We would not stay here again.

This is a nice park, drives were all asphalt but the sites were gravel and not very level. Seemed to be a lot of full time people, but sites were kept clean and neat, not like some places we have been. All the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. There was no dog park, but Love's across the street did have one. The place did have cable TV, but the connectors were not complete and therefore unusable. They did pick up your trash every morning.

This is a very small new campground with only 10 spots, most of the spots are occupied by long term people, but they are kept very nice and neat. The owners, Michael & Kim, were great and met us when we pulled in and then checked on us several times during our stay. Michael even invited me to a dinner at his church one night while we were there. This place is definitely on our list of places to visit again and would be the place we would want to stay anytime we are in the area. They also had a great dog park which is always a plus with us. Chimney Rock, Lure Lake, and Mount Mitchell were great places to see in the area. The hamburgers at Scrappy’s were great.

This was a nice newer park that was far enough off the highway so there was not any highway noise. We had a premium spot complete with a patio, patio table and chairs and a weber kettle BBQ grill.

The only problem with access is because it sits on the interstate you can only access it from one direction, but that wasn't really a problem.

Our only complaint was the people with dogs that create a problem for the rest of us with dogs. As with most parks there are dog owners that will not pick up after them. One thing at this park was there were people (I'm guessing they were long term people) that treated the dog park like their own personal space. They would take there large aggressive dogs and drop them off at the dog park and then leave, go down to another RV and have a beer. There was also a couple of groups that had large dogs (Boxers and Dobermans) that never had their dogs on a leash, they just ran loose around there RV.

It was a little dusty, but most people were good about driving slow enough not to stir up the dust.

We really like this RV park it is very clean and well kept. During the 2 weeks we stayed at the end of December they were constantly working on the facility. Every time someone would leave they would show up and sweep the patio, wipe the table, and rake the gravel. Then when someone was coming into a spot they would come over and double check to make sure everything was in proper order.

It is close to all to the fun things to do in Fredericksburg. There is a large communal patio with a fire pit. On Friday nights while we were there, they had wine tastings and then on Christmas Eve they served hot chocolate around the fire pit. They have two dog parks that are well maintained. They seem to employe lots of work-campers and everyone is very friendly. One of the workers that was always out checking and cleaning the sites always had dog treats with him so our Airedale loved to see him.

Some of the pull thru sites are a little tight and hard to get into, but other than that we love this park and would stay here again they next time we are in the area.

This is a really nice clean park, site was gravel, but was very level and long enough for my truck and trailer. It has full hookups and a picnic table. There is a small dog park and our dog like being able to run a little off leash. She was also able to see chickens, ducks and a horse which fascinated her. Not a lot of shade, but it is in an area of Texas where there a not a lot of trees. WIFI was great, able to work, check emails, and stream our TV without any problems. Will be our regular stop anytime we come this way. Easy to get in and out of off 287.

This is a very nice RV park, all sites are very level concrete pads with picnic tables and grills, also lots of space between you and your neighbor. The main drawback to this place is the location, it is about 25 minutes from Galveston and about the same distance to Surfside . The only other thing was the “high speed” internet service that will cost you and extra $14.00 per day which is a little ridiculous given that the equipment needed and the service has dropped greatly in price in recent years. It’s not worth the extra money, it is neither fast or reliable it would not work for us more than 2 or 3 minutes without going down for 2 or 3 minutes. Using my phone for a hotspot was about 100 times faster than the “high speed” internet.
The guy that worked the office while we were there was not very friendly and acted like we disturbed him because we were checking in and wanted to make sure we read and followed all of the rules.
They do have a fenced dog park which is always nice to let our dog off leash to run a little.
I would stay here again if I was wanting a place to stay and didn’t want to go into Galveston or Surfside on a regular basis. Beach access was easy but a little bit of a walk, I would recommend a wagon or something to put your beach stuff on if you were walking to the beach. If you stay up at the front there is a little highway noise, but not as much as other places we've stayed.

This was basically two parks in one. At the front when you first pulled in it was very clean with nice large spaces and tables, chairs, and fire pits. When we checked in and were shown to our spot it was at the back next to I-80 and extremely close to each other. I felt like I had to stand inside the RV next to us in order to hook up water and sewer. Once I had my slides open you could barely walk between the RV's. There were a lot of long term people in this area with broken down vehicles, junk piled up and one even had a dog run attached to one side of it. I have never understood why KOA does not have rules for their park owners and make them clean up. Is not a place I would not stay again unless I was sure I would have a spot up front were it actually looked like a different park. It rained a lot while we were there so everything was pretty muddy. We camped at Laramie KOA Journey in a Travel Trailer.

This was not a bad park for a one night stay. Site was gravel but very level and long enough we did not have to unhook. The pool/clubhouse area were very nice and well maintained with new furniture. There were a few grill scattered around the small park that looked like they had just bee put in recently.

If highway noise bothers you, this is not the place for you to stay because it is right on Interstate 20 and the noise is constant.

We enjoyed this no-frills park, it was quiet, dark, and our spot (#8) was very level. There is no office so you call the number on the sign when you get into the park and Ted will tell you which spot to park in. We had plenty of room in our spot. This place gives the feel of a secluded state park except with full hookups hard packed gravel/dirt with a fire ring and picnic table. The water pressure was great, and the 50-amp service seemed to be very stable. They were in the process of adding 9 more spaces (most of them pull-thru) while we were there, they finally got the electric hooked up. There were quite a few seasonal/full-timers and are even a couple of cabins to rent. We would stay here again if we are ever back in this area.

The road going into the park and the roads inside the park are a little narrow, but there is not a lot of traffic.

If you need a pool and lots of other activities to occupy your time then this is not the place for you, but if you like it nice and quiet and dark then give this place a try.
