After our previous plans fell through we were set on traveling from Horseshoe Bend to Las Vegas after sunset. Due to a traffic accident in front of us we sat in our van for an hour. I looked for campsites to spend the night but they were all ready closed for the night. Luckily I found Dark Sky! I was able to reserve a site and check in online as easy as could be. We pulled in to our site and fell asleep. In the morning we were able to check out the campsites. It is beautiful. The RVs are separated nicely with full hook ups. The tent sites had nice gravel pads. WiFi is everywhere. And the bathrooms are amazing!! The only slightly negative thing is there are only 2 toilets. (Located in the wonderful bathrooms) so if you just need to use the toilet you have to wait. And there is no seating to wait. Other than that a beautiful Oasis tailored to weary traveler! Also best sunrise ever!

We had to change our plans to visit Yosemite at the last moment due to wildfires. We chose to visit the Grand Canyon but had no reservations. Since we were in a camper van we just decided to wing it and try free camping. The road is easy to find and well maintained. We took a quick tour in the am to see how it all worked before we hit the GC. Once the sun set we drove back and picked a spot. The other campers were visible but quiet. Some of the turn offs further back were pretty rough. Ours was closer to the entrance and was great. Super close to restaurants. Glad we took the chance!

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. Close to Shipshewana and all the shopping. Site 38 was decent. Needed about 4 inches of blocks on passenger side which made the last step a big one. Clean bathrooms with a washer and dryer available to use.

We stayed here for the Grand Design National Rally. We were in section I site 129. Water and electric were available here. Full hook ups at some sites. Water pressure was low but that might be because we had to share with next site. *bring a y attachment for your water*
The trains go all day and all night. Stay away from tracks if you are a light sleeper. Verizon service was ok. No streaming but could do texting and some phone calls.
Bathrooms were plentiful and clean.
Saw a Bald Eagle flying over one day!
Nice camping near Shipshewana. Small campground but well maintained.
