The family and I stopped here on a road trip home from PA, to CA. This was one of the coolest stops we did. We did not do the museum, so I can only review the outside attractions. The memorial is amazing for any history buff, or lover of masonry. The statues, and buildings are amazing and the property is wonderful to simply walk around on, and let the kids loose. It is well maintained, and is absolutely gorgeous. The tower, however, was the highlight of our trip here. for something like $5/person, some gentlemen will take you all the way to the top of the center tower, and since Missouri is so flat, the view was amazing. Anyone who stops here, simply must go tot he top of the tower, as you can see all of kansas city, and then sum from up there.

This is an excellent zoo! the free price tag is a major plus, but, like all parks/zoos, the price is in the purchased items. parking is a pain in the rear at this zoo, but once your in, the zoo itself is very well kept, excellently organized, and layed out in a way that is easy to navigate, even if you are skipping around to various exhibits. Definatley pack for lots of walking as the zoo is rather large. For anyone passing through, looking for a good all day stop for the family, this zoo is perfect. Just be warned, the free price tag means that there are A LOT of people, which is why parking is such a pain.

This is a very nice park. the family and I stopped here on a road trip home across country. It was a great place to let the kids run around, take a nice walk, and play. This park seemed to be very well kept, and clean as well.

Anyone who has been to rainforest Cafe in disneyland, LA, has basically been to T-rex Cafe. Food is good, and priced reasonably well, however thats where the frugal nature leaves. This place is a money pit, through and through. Be prepared to wait a long time (if you go during the busy part of the day), and have your kids begging for you to buy stuff from the store. T-rex Cafe is an amazing restaurant, with am amazing layout, however you get what you pay for, and in this case, you get ALOT, but you'll also pay ALOT.

This is worth every penny of the $10 entry fee. This momument will leave you breathless, and is VERY well layed out. After entering the park, the main road will take you up to the top of the mountain that surrounds this momument. I cant remember the total drive length (i want to say 30 mi), but you'll zig zag around some of the most beautiful canyons you'll ever see. There are pull-outs all along the road for amazing vistas, which also tell you a bit of history about the particular landscape that your looking at. I went out of my way (and was time crunched) to make this park a part of my road trip, and it was worth every penny, every second, and made for some amazing memories.

This lake is Pretty neat. Its Right off Hwy 50, and is easy to acces a host of locations around the lake. The water (early august) is actually quite warm when the water source is considered. The landscape is very beautiful, and the water is crystal clear. There is camping around the lake for tents, or RV, which ever you prefer, and, of course, there are ramps for launching your boats. This is a beautiful lake whether you want to simply drive by it, or take advantage of its water. In my opinion, anyone that simply drives by it is missing out. Also Hwy 50 is MUCH more scenic than Int.70 so this lake is almost a given if your driving east/west across Colorado.
