Where’s it at? West side of Yuma, near Winterhaven, on the Colorado River
What’s it Cost? $23 with an Escapees Membership. They honor the Passport America card also. (you don’t want to pay any more than this for this park)
The Low Down The entire park is gravel and the spaces are very, very close to each other. Most are winter residents and they are very friendly. Location, location, location! Close to Mexico (Los Algodones 15 min), close to downtown Yuma and on the river! The main bike trail (paved) starts here and goes for miles. The Visitor center is about 2 miles away, so stop in there to get the low down on how far you can ride and what to do in Yuma. There is one shower for men and one for women, clubhouse and laundry facilities. The park has a boat ramp for your small fishing boat or canoe on the Coloraod River.

Mojo Factor The Manager Larry is super nice and laid back. No list of rules for the park, seems to run just fine without them. The park has a full calendar with organized horseshoes, shuffle board, exercise classes, bingo, card games, karaoke, community meals and more! On Tuesday night they have a BBQ and music on the river, lots of fun. Saturdays they serve a full breakfast for $4. All in all, a good mojo factor.

The Dog’s Opinion I walked the dogs down to the river which is an open space area. Also there is a vacant lot to the west that you can potty the dogs. (of course, always pick up!) The reason I chose this park is because it’s next to a huge City Park/wetlands called Wetlands West, many acres on the Colorado River. There are paths paved and gravel through the park and walking paths (bark covered) down by the river. I rode my bike with the dogs running through trees and bushes. Busy on the weekends, hardly anyone there during the week. Then if that’s not your dog’s dream, there is a large grass park across the canal (2 blocks away), with ball fields and large trees and grass. If you have a ball dog, this is a great place to play.
TV? Very good on the antenna. Networks, PBS, and a few more.

Cell phone/Wi-Fi? Verizon is good, 3 bars. Wi-Fi from the park is very slow; I was not able to accomplish anything on it.

Parting thoughts The park is on the Colorado River, across from it (north)is another RV park, then the Interstate is next to that, so yes, you can hear the interstate. Otherwise, it’s quiet. Call Larry the owner to discuss your options if you have a big rig. Bottom line, this is an ok little park with great trails for an active dog. Good for a stop through stay (my opinion) if warm enough, your dog can swim in the river. Next time I’m in Yuma, I plan on exploring the park next door called Riverfront RV Park. I talked to a few people there and they said that it is a friendly place. The east sites back up to Wetlands West park, so this would be a nice feature for those of us with dogs. The sites are more organized and a few feet wider and longer, definitely big rig friendly.

We came here planning on staying a week to see friends and visit Algadones, Mexico. Once set up, we soon decided to stay a month. Our price was then converted to a monthly of 320. The manager, Michelle, was so easy to work with and John, the maintenance guy was helpful.
The park has a dozen or more full timers. Most residents, full time and travelers seem to be 50+ (more in the 70s range) but all were very nice and kept to themselves.
The park has a clubhouse with bingo, an ice cream social, shuffle board and a jam session once a week, as well as many other activities. There is a "library" to borrow books and DVDs from. There are laundry facilities and even a clothes line to take advantage of the solar! All these things more than make up for the age of the park which is a bit dated.
The sites aren't the biggest and because of a permanent structure, it took some finagling to get our 30' 5th wheel in. Then parking the truck was very tight. But as a few people moved on, we were able to use another site to park in, no problem.
The river access at the park is steep and not real usable but a short walk to the west provides many access points as well as the West Wetlands park to the east, full of bike/walking trails. This for us was the best part, walking our dogs, asking them for a dip in the river.
I had no issues with cell coverage with Verizon.
I would definitely stay again.

There are a lot of permanent residents, but also a lot of seasonal or short term people. Michelle and Mimi were great to work with. I was only going to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 6. The restroom is very clean. The West Wetlands Park is a short walk away. I very nice and large park along the Colorado River. I would stay there again. It is a small and older park but has a friendly vibe. They honor Passport America which is why the price is $24/night. They also have sewers at every spot.

It's a 55+ park that allows everyone in. Its noticeably lower quality than the park next door, but knowledge of that fact seems to make its inhabitants friendlier. Nothing bad about the park, just not as nice as the typical Arizona parks. Mostly seasonal long term residents but still clean and welcoming. Gravel spots are typically close together but there's always a lot of empty spots in the middle (where they put the short term stays), and they're pretty relaxed about where you park. If you're under 55 there's extremely few options in the area and for the Passport America price this is the best we've found.

If you need to dump your tanks and have electricity for the night it may be your option for the $45 nightly fee. Highly chlorinated water, would not recommend using. The hose bib leaked horribly so even if the water didn’t smell like a public pool I still wouldn’t use. Many full time residents in the park

We like the people here and the price is good. $160 a week or $350 a month. The location is great, no noise at night and close to everything including shopping, great walking and biking trails. The wifi is only available in the clubhouse for the most part and there are lapses in maintenance such as lights in the washrooms and such. But for the most part it’s very comfortable and the other residents are friendly and engaging
