“More impressive than El Capitan!”

Cathedral Rocks and Spires form the eastern side of the canyon through which Bridalveil Creek flows. Some people think these rocks, just opposite of El Capitan, are even more impressive than El Capitan! You can see these formations from the turnout at El Capitan Meadow. The cliffs extend for 8 nautical miles (15 km) along the south side of Ferrar Glacier and form part of the north shoulder of the Royal Society Range, in Victoria Land. They were discovered and named on December 7, 1902 by Lieutenant A.B. Armitage, leader of a party of the British National Antarctic Expedition, 1901–04, that explored this area. The name is descriptive of the feature.

If you are a person that loves rocky backgrounds, then you should go to Cathedral Rocks.

Exactly like Cathedrals are landmarks of a place, this rock stands up from the others surrounding it.

The dynamism and glory of this rock will blow you mind as you stand below it and realize how small we humans are in comparison to nature.
