Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 17, 2020I was trying to camp at Miami Bar but all camping was closed outside of Grants Pass. Found this campground on this site and it was open! 4 spots all with table and fire ring. Vault toilet was clean. Across the road from Cow Creek. There are also unimproved sites in the water.

Was a great place to camp for the night. The sites were well maintained and the entire grounds were nice and clean. Is a bit of a drive from the interstate but not to bad. Would definitely camp there again if I’m the area.

We stayed here Sept 17 2020 during the nearby fires. It was smokey, but manageable. A good spot to stop on our way through from California to Seattle. We arrived quite late on a Weds, around 1am. There was a lot of trash all over the floor at the trash receptacle near the pit toilet. Seems raccoons or something got in and ripped it all over. That wasn’t nice to show up to and left us a bit nervous as we were the only campers. However we were fine and slept really peacefully. In the morning a ranger/cleaning man showed up and cleaned up the mess, we talked to him and said thanks and sorry that the people were so messy, he seemed happy and said it was his job and gave him something to do. The pit toilet was clean. I think this place is well maintained generally, we just came right after some jerks. Still sad that it got trashed, it seems like the people couldn’t fit all there trash so left it in bags by the trash and it got ripped up, if the trash is full please consider to take your trash out with you, or just in general always take your trash out is nice. There are 4 sites, two more up to the pines with some shade and options for hanging a hammock, and two more open/sunny. It’s a nice spot. The road continues on through the camp and we drove down that way a bit toward the creek, I think if the 4 spots were full you could continue on through and find a place down the road easy enough. No cell service at all. Also a guy stopped by and gave us a flyer with the rules like no fires (during the drought) and other rules like we need a shovel, not sure why since there are pit toilets. But he was nice. Thankful for this place to rest! Good spot, nothing extraordinary as some stunning camp spots I have stayed, but nice trees and fresh air I imagine when it’s not Smokey and beautiful nature.

We stayed here Nov. 1st and 2nd. We arrived late afternoon and the few main spots with fire pits, picnic tables, etc. were taken. We continued along the road and found a less established but nice little flat spot. If you keep driving down that road I’m sure you could find even more. They had trash and vault toilets in the main area. We are a sprinter van hauling a 12ft trailer and we did fine here! Definitely would recommend this nice spot.

Relatively peaceful spot, straightforward with few amenities (one toilet, picnic tables) and no cell signal (for at&t at least). Heard some logging trucks go by every once in a while.

This was a great spot to be in nature, yet still have amenities like a level gravel pad for your RV, brand new tables and fire rings along, clean and well stocked vault toilet and bear proof trash receptacles.
There are 4 official sites at this BLM campground but you can put multiple vehicles in them so at times we have several neighbors sharing their camping area but we were there on the opening weekend of hunting season so that is to be expected.
The campground itself was beautiful and very clean, however, sadly venturing into the forest for hikes along the Forest Service roads is a bit disappointing. You will find burned out camper trailers, flipped over cars, and residential trash dumped along the banks of the beautiful creek running below. Our hunting neighbors were locals and strongly advised us not to leave much unattended here.
With that warning in mind we did not explore much of the area, but found staying near the campground and enjoying the quiet served us well. Cow Creek Road into the campground is amazingly well maintained and you are off pavement onto a well packed gravel road for about 1/4 mile into the campground.
Our 28 foot Airstream had no trouble coming up the hill into the campground and there were several bigger trailers here as well.
Zero cell phone service on Verizon and even Starlink was a challenged due to the density of the forest. We were here in early October 2023, so solar hours were already less than mid summer, so we did end up using a generator every couple of days to recharge.
