We moved over here from American Girl Mine Rd because we have a RZR with sand tires on which do not like the paved roads. We like peace and quiet so we were kind of nervous coming over to the area where everyone parks to go ride the dunes - you'd think there would be lots of noise. Turns out, there was NONE!
The road to get to the Boondocking area was really good - there were several pull-offs on the way out that you could choose from if you didn't want to stay right next to the dunes.
We were alone for 90% of the time. It was AWESOME!!! Strange... but awesome! This might be a one time thing, not entirely sure.
We stayed right next to one of the 'entrances' to the dunes where the ground was literally all sand. It was great for the dogs - they LOVED the sand.
Cell signal was great for both AT&T and Verizon. Close to Yuma - took me about 25-30 mins to get to town.
The whole area is pretty level minus some 'whoops' on the road when you come in towards the end.
We enjoyed this spot while we were here because it was so peaceful and quiet.. but I have a feeling it isn't always like this. From my research and talking to the locals, holidays in this area are VERY busy!

This is a huge area with great access to the dunes. The road coming in is good, but you will pass through private land before you get to the BLM CG. There is a private camping area about 3/4 of a mile before Ogilby and Keith may stop you and solicit a donation for maintaining the private road. Be aware he also likes to talk politics and is pretty extreme in his views, in my opinion.
The camping area is extremely large with lots of level, isolated spaces. Even though this is an OHV area, we experienced very little traffic or noise, even over a weekend. There is a nearby visitor center, Buttercup Ranger Station, but it is closed.
Surprisingly there was decent T-Mobile service and of course it was great for solar and Starlink.
Highly recommended.

Very quiet and convenient to Los Algodones for medical needs. Absolutely beautiful sunsets. Good cell phone service. Chevron station nearby for everything, pricey but convenient. Yuma is less than 1/2 hour, Mexico about 20 minutes.
Christmas weekend and plenty of spots left. Closest neighbors about 3 football fields away.
Wife wants to move on, but I don’t. Enjoying the peace and serenity.
