The last weekend of July 2017 we found ourselves looking for a campground near Traverse City, and this one still had availability. It's a small campground, the wifi is ok, not outstanding, and the camp host was a little grumpy. They have an (unadvertised) service for the sewage: just tell them you need to dump and somebody will take care of it the next morning. We did not use the service ourselves. There are no showers and only two little latrines on both parts of the campgrounds. Overall, the guests of the campground were very nice.

We had a wonderful stay! The owner Dennis and his wife were so sweet and accommodating! The space we had was amazing. Very quiet & the night sky looked like a planetarium! We actually caught a glimpse of the northern lights and starlink satellites!!! Excellent location, convenient to everything! I would definitely recommend!!!!

Getting there: relatively easy to find, although the entrance is slightly hidden. Almost drove past it on our arrival.
Checking in: the owner made me sign an acknowledgement of "the rules" that were posted on a bulletin board outside of his home. There is nothing on the website, RV Life, nor the reservation site about the rules, which included "low tolerance for alcoholic beverages". No explanation of what exactly that meant. No late night parties? No visible alcohol? No alcohol at all? I didn't bother asking since he seemed in a grumpy mood and I would play it by ear. He assigned us Site 9 after confusing it with other sites a few times.
Site: holy cramped. I could barely fit our 25' travel trailer and truck on the site. There was maybe 10' between us and the poor family next to us. I felt bad for them but they rolled with it. Very friendly. I realized our site was missing a picnic table and a fire ring as well. I considered going back to ask for another site or how we could get one but the "welcome" pushed me off of it. I had no where else to go and from some Google reviews, the owner would kick anyone out who didn't agree with him. We needed the spot. So I dealt with it.
While it's advertised as "gravel site", it's really more "dumped rock". There was no compaction, no leveling, and there were tire ruts all over the grass overgrown "gravel bed". Our stabilizers sank into the dirt outside of the rocks.
The Campground: there was just a weird, "mind your own business" kind of vibe to the place. Aside from our friendly neighbors, everyone stayed in their campers or left for the day to a nearby horse show. The whole place has a "park & sleep" feel to it, with no campfires, no socializing, no one walking around, and everyone just keeping to themselves (except for our friendly neighbors). We didn't feel like we belonged there.
We will not be returning.
