“Northern Texas Natural Beauty!”
The park offers fishing, lake swimming on an unsupervised beach, water skiing, disc golf, picnicking, camping, nature study, hiking, horseback riding and boating. This site offers approximately 5 miles of multiuse trails on approximately 300 acres that are open to hikers as well as riders. The trails pass over grassy, flat terrain. Each of the four campsites has water, electricity, a picnic table, a fire ring, a tie rail and a picket line. Parking and restrooms are available near the group building. Restrooms with showers are located at the central campgrounds. Visitors must provide their own horses.

We had reservations and when we arrived the park was almost empty. The campground is arranged with several camping loops. The ranger that checked us in was really friendly and told us which loops would be best for our size rig. Because the park was almost empty she told us to pick a site and call her back with the site number. Most of the sites are back in but we found a large pull through with paved pad, water and electric hookups, a large grass sitting area, a covered picnic table and fire ring. There was only one other camper in the loop and we felt like we had the entire park to ourselves.
There was a bath house close by, several picnic areas, pavilions, a disc golf course, and hiking trails in the park. The park was clean and well maintained with the grass freshly mowed. We were entertained by the prairie dogs located in another section of the park and also enjoyed seeing the working oil pump in the campground.
The state park is located a short drive from Wichita Falls where there is a Walmart, other shopping and restaurants.
If your travels take you to Wichita Falls I highly recommend this state park.

This is a nice park. It is quiet and the sites are good sized. Not a photogenic park. We come here a couple of times a year and always enjoy. Water, electric and dump site.

We arrived on Memorial Day 2018 weekend without reservation and with a few probing questions- we found two RV sites with Electric and Water in the Equestrian area- in a otherwise packed campground. We took one for our tiny teardrop. Quiet and separated from general campers with a nice restroom. At the time of our late arrival it was register by cash only.

During this time of year, flocks of White Pelicans and Canada Geese were present making an excellent place for bird watching. We also visited the Prarie Dog area. Saw a few fishermen with their catch. There was an oil well next to our campsite that made a thumping sound but it wasn’t unpleasant. We rode our electric bikes but the trails were covered with water due to recent rains so we had to turn around.

Simply put....so relaxing! Not only was the reservation, navigation and set up of the park, and amenities simple, the entire park was well managed. They offer Water/Electric (30/50amp) sites for $22 per night plus a $4 per person admission fee as well as Water only sites (by the lake) for $12. All the sites were flat and either paved or nice gravel with a covered aluminum picnic table. Very well manicured landscape and an easy walk to the swimming beach on Lake Arrowhead. A playground and dock are also by the lake. CONS: The restrooms are very spread out and because there is no AC (we stayed mid-August), they are extremely hot and wasps have made the stalls their homes. We were parked very close to a gasoline oil pump which was kind of noisy. Otherwise, the restrooms and entire property is clean and wonderful. (Shoutout to the AWESOME staff member who I called 5 min before they left for the day and went ahead to let us pay for the spot over the phone.)

We enjoyed staying here. The power and water are good and we liked hiking the trails. They have an excellent, well maintained disk golf course that runs along the main hiking trail. Lake access is also excellent with boat ramps and many picnic areas with covered tables and grills along the lake. The only thing that really bothered us was that darned oil pump jack motor. The oil well is centrally located in the camping area and is actually interesting to look at and read about on the sign located near it. Unfortunately, the rhythmic PUT-PUT-PUT of the motor can be heard everywhere... even inside our well insulated fifth wheel. If you are at all sensitive to such things, just be aware that you will hear it going to bed and waking up. Other than that, this is a well run park with friendly rangers and hosts.

This is a beautiful park with large campsites for RVs. Easy to navigate and park. I noticed a few motorhomes one that was 40ft. Covered picnic tables with grills and plenty of space to pitch a tent next to your RV. The park is managed well and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing I did not like was the shower/restroom. It was not in good shape. There are two showers and one didn't work. The toilets and sinks were clean. However, be careful entering because the lights did not come on and it was very dark inside at 930am. They appeared to be on a timer, maybe. I had decent over the air TV coverage. Sprint and ATT coverage at one or two bars during my stay.

Lake Arrowhead SP is a few miles South of Wichita, TX. The park has 48 electric (30 and 50 amp) and water sites, and 19 water only sites. The sites are mostly level, very well maintained, and include covered picnic table and fire ring. The restrooms are also very clean and well maintained. The park has a fishing pier, swimming area, boat ramp, frisbee golf course, equestrian camping area, hiking trails, prairie dog town, and a pump jack (the pump jack is located in the electric/water camping area). The Good: Easy check in and friendly staff. Sites and restrooms are clean and well maintained. Very good AT&T and Verizon cell service. The Bad: Nothing negative to report.

Easy back in site, lots of space between the sites. Well manicured grass area around fire pit and covered picnic table. A short walk to a well kept beach area though I wouldn't suggest beach ware for the hike lots of grass and"spider stickers". People working the gate were very helpful and professional. Wish we had more time here.
