“The nation's first stand-alone nonprofit insect zoo!”
The Butterfly Pavilion combines science education with interactive fun to teach visitors about invertebrates and conservation. Our five immersive exhibits, including our rainforest filled with 1,600 free-flying tropical butterflies, provide a year-round, unforgettable experience. Visitors can get up close and personal with live animals, enjoy daily educational programs, explore the wonder of the outdoors on the nature trail, and discover the newest traveling exhibit.
Good place to visit with kids. $9.50 per adult, $6.50 per child. We found a coupon on the website for $2 off each person up to 4 people. It does close 45 mins before the closing time posted (we barely made it in).
Great for kids (ours are 2-10). Very kid friendly and interesting. Lots to touch and do. The butterfly enclosure was especially magical.
$28 for Family
Be sure to check out the outside garden! Fun trails to walk through on either side of the parking lot entrance, absolutely packed with pollinator-friendly plants. If you’re lucky, you may even see one of the cute bunnies that call the space home :) Great use of a space that would normally just be boring “landscaping”. We managed to get there during a butterfly release. It was magical! And as Southerners in an arid climate, we enjoyed the humidity!
