“A Misquamicut Summer Tradition Since 1920”
Located on the south shore of Rhode Island in Misquamicut, overlooking Block Island and the tip of Long Island, Atlantic Beach Park has been a charming landmark in this area dating back to 1920, and is still owned and operated by the same family. The original name was "Atlantic Beach Casino", meaning a place to enjoy the beautiful surf, where, in days gone past, families and friends would sit in rocking chairs on the boardwalk, enjoying the sun and swimming in the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Over 90 years later, Atlantic Beach Park remains a local Misquamicut summer tradition. The main attraction was, and still is, the Carousel, circa. 1920, always fun to ride for children and adults alike. Three of the signature horses from this Carousel were carved by the famous Marcus Ilions and are stabled at the New England Carousel Museum, Bristol, CT. Along with the Carousel; there are children's amusement rides, and a game room.
Wasn't much happening on an early November day. A few fisherman were fishing, but that was about it. I'm sure it would be better in the Summer. Not our favorite NE coast beach.
