Plenty of level room to park. Lots of trucks overnight but we were able to be far enough away that it was not an issue. Well lit and security patrolled regularly.
Pulled into the lot and went where the trucks were first. Most were running their motors and it was loud. Then noticed the campers behind the cars parked in the rear asphalt lot and went over there. There was a security car riding though the lot constantly. Well lit and safe.Went in and bet a few races on the dogs. Great time.
We did not Park in the gravel. Our rig is so small we just parked in the main lot.
This is a parking lot which is great. We parked alongside the creek which was flowing swiftly from raining the past 2 days. Security makes frequent passes through the parking lot. Note how tall is your rig there is a bar which states height 12’6 I believe our antenna hit but we were fine. Easy off & back on I40. Great for a one night stop over.
Great overnight spot. Patrolled constantly by security guards and police. We even had one guard approach us and showed a better place to park with a security camera and more overhead lights - very inviting.
Downside is that they are very strict on a no dog policy. We were asked to move when a security guard saw us walking our dog. He explained that it’s company policy since they race dogs - understandable. He said he would look the other way if we parked in the back with the semis and kept the dog inside. A bit inconvenient, but hey, it was a clean safe place to overnight after a long haul.
Unless you can fit in a regular parking spot They put you in the back with all the trucks. A rough gravel lot with potholes & mud puddles in the parking area. This is a staging area for the construction that’s going on not a place to welcome their guests. We were so disappointed we didn’t even go in to gamble
Pulled in behind raceway in gravel lot. Security came and escorted us to the front of the trace track and near the road. Then another security guard came and told us to follow him to a quieter area.
We asked him to come back as we were dealing with a refrigerator issue.
No one returned till late when we had reoriented ourselves as far as possible from the freeway.
Later another guard came but said since day shift put us there we could stay.
The truck parking looked full and was behind the casino but might have been quieter.
They are building a car garage.
It was absolutely pouring and instead of the gravel truck parking lot, I parked in the garage, far away from the elevators. There were hundreds of spaces on the 5 levels. I guess I'm not the stealthiest of car campers, but no one bothered me until the 7am shift who knocked on the window and told me to leave. I did spend $$ at the casino for fun, and told that to the security guard, but he didn't care. FYI--the truck lot where many RVs go said "for casino use only". Went to the Pilot down the road for a couple more hours of sleep.
We circled the building when we arrived, trying to figure out the best place to park. A security guard in a white pickup pulled up next to us and told us to follow him. He directed us to a wide open section of the lot and explained how best to orient our rig so that folks monitoring security cameras inside could see both sides—for extra safety, he explained. It was pleasant to get a leg stretch walking around inside the casino, which is enormous, and to eat dinner at a restaurant without having to unhitch. All the staff we interacted with were friendly. What more can you ask for in a free stay?! There’s some road noise, but it was more like white noise.
DO NOT GO IN THE CASINO ENTRANCE!! The have an entry way now that is only 12' 6'' so make sure to take the side road BEFORE you get to the casino. If you miss the first road, go all the way down past the rest area and take the road between the gas station and the rest area, take a right, and then another right at the first road. This will take you all the way down to the back of the casino and into the truck/rv parking lot. Other than that, Southland was the perfect spot for an overnight stop. We parked in the VERY back of the lot so that we were away from truckers. We arrived around 7pm and it was still pretty vacant. We arrived home at midnight from the casino and there was still so much room around us and in the parking lot. I felt safe since the security guard drives around all night.
