Quail Run RV Resort

This isn't the kind of place I would normally choose to stop but outrunning a hurricane is exhausting and this place was right off the highway. However, it is very nice and well tended. It is more of a retirement resort, with the majority of the park filled with what looks to be long term and permanent residents. We were given a pull through space away from the nearest neighbors, which I appreciated as most of the park was occupied. I was also complimented by the host for navigating my bus around a one lane 90 degree turn between two full time residents without clipping their porches, which I could tell was sincere because she was visibly relieved. This isn't a place to stay if you're looking for anything more than a slightly overpriced RV Hilton while you pass through on your way somewhere, anywhere, else.

Might depend on what you are looking for but we absolutely loved Quail Run. I only wish I could have spent the entire winter there. My husband and I - both over 65 - were very happy with the sites, activities, the store, and the great employees who keep this park immaculate, quiet and safe. The residents and other campers were the friendliest I have met in years. Great area for biking. Stores and restaurants were all nearby and you had a choice of mall type stores, Outlet stores and a shopping area called Krates as well as Walmart. And you are only about 30 minutes to Tampa area. I only hope next year we will be able to get a site for the entire winter season!!

Would not stay here ever again. The campground is a 55+ snowbird resort. The full timers were not friendly and the manager was not friendly and welcoming. The cost was too much for the unlevel small gravel site. The cable tv did not work the grass area by the gravel was riddled with fire ants. You had to stay on the concrete picnic table area to not get bitten. We had family with children that wanted to visit and they were reluctantly accommodating. The bathroom showers were dirty and old and needed updating. Would not recommend unless you are desperate!

So clean! Concrete pads are a real plus! Nice quiet people. More high end than the other parks. Pretty.
