“calling all outdoor enthusiasts!”
Outdoor enthusiasts will love this KOA. Ideally located in the Sierra Mountains, the campground also backs up to the Kern River Preserve. Poised midway between Southern California and Yosemite or Death Valley, this KOA offers easy access to acclaimed whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Kern River. Enjoy nearby lake access for boat-ing, Jet Skiing, fishing, windsurfing or swimming. Off-road enthusiasts can access miles of trails right across the road from the campground. Golfing, skiing or snowboarding are a short drive away. Visit the Trail of 100 Giants, Silver City Ghost Town and Nuui Cunni Native American Inter-Tribal Cultural Center. At KOA, you'll find everything from large, shady Pull-Thru RV Sites to Tent Sites, a family pool, splash zone play area, Camping Kitchen, playground, game room, general store and pub. Ice cream socials, crafts, games for all ages, pancake breakfasts and movie nights help make your stay great! Pool: May 1 - October 31. Max pull thru: 80 feet. Your hosts: the Cushman family.
$46 for a spot to put up a tent? HAH.
All we wanted was a shower, laundry facilities and a place to throw down our tent for the night. The showers were flooded above my feet, only one open and the bathrooms were dirty. The washer and dryer were old and not maintained. There was so much mineral buildup in the washer, the water was trickling and it took at least twice as long as it should have. The dryer was super hot and left my clothes with a wierd burndt smell. I realize KOA doesn't provide a big space in most case, but these campsites are basically a parking space and everyone is on top of each other. Closing bathroom stalls and showers because of Covid but renting out every site is kind of ridiculous. Maybe have the KOA in Cheyenne cone in and clean this place and train the staff. The you girl at the front desk was frosty and unpleasant. Do better KOA!
