Fort Union Rest Area Northbound

Stopped for the night and it wasn’t bad. Right off the highway with pull through spots. Obviously quite a bit of traffic noise but of course, expected at a rest area. Easily accommodated our 43’ rig with a small boat behind. We decided to camp out on the dirt area rather than using a pull through spot due to the semi trucks running all night. Bathrooms were clean and we had plenty of space for our dog to run around to go potty. Would stay again if we were passing through.

When you pull into the rest stop a sign directs you to go to the right if you want to overnight. There are about six or eight spots for semis and big rigs. I took one. If you are very sensitive to noise there is a gravel lot to the right by the big sand pile that you could stay also. That spot would be quieter as it's further from the highway and away from any idling diesel trucks. There were very few semis here overnight on a Wednesday.
