“A delicious treat for all ages”
Nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains, our ice cream factory sits on a rolling pasture overlooking the Worcester Range heading North from the town of Waterbury. Our guided factory tours are fun & educational for all ages. We offer guests the opportunity to learn about the production process & how the Company’s 3 part-mission statement is incorporated into day-to-day business decisions. Our tour begins in the Cow Over the Moon theater with a company history moo-vie. Find out how two childhood friends, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, turned a $5.00 correspondence course on ice cream making into a very successful business that shares its success with its employees, & the community & has fun doing it!
It was a busy summer day when my family and I went here. We waited for around 30 minutes in line. It was worth the wait. The tour was really fascinating. It's main focus was on the factory's history and, of course, how their ice cream is made. They also had a gift shop where you could buy some cool souvenirs. And oh, don't forget to go to the graveyard! It is where they exhibit the retired flavors which are no longer in production now. Best part was the free big scoop of ice cream at the end of the tour.
4$ for a quick guided tour. Not recommended.

really interesting! go see the graveyard!!
We stopped in on a crisp fall day and were surprised by the crowd at the Scoop shop. They only had 3 scoopers working and the line kept growing. We moved beyond the line to purchase a tour ticket and were able to get on the tour that was about to start. The tour started with a movie that had historical perspective and was entertaining. After the movie, we were able to watch the production line from above and the guide was very informative about what we were seeing at each station. The best part was the tasting of their test flavor. Yum!
Super busy. Huge parking lot. Be prepared for crowds. Tour itself was pretty short, most of it was watching a video. The whole point is to get to taste a sample. We got a very good one called "the old fashioned" which is not out yet. Then after the tour you can stand in line (for 40 minutes) to buy ice cream. Lots of photo op areas. It's worth a stop if you have time and don't mind crowds... but not a destination in and of itself.
Really enjoyed the trip. Great tour and lots of things in the gift shop. Of course lots of ice cream!! Grave yard is good and there is a park there with benches in the shade. Staff very helpful and friendly
We had a great time on the tour and buying fun goodies in the gift shop! Best part was the FRESH free samples at the end of the tour. LOVE that I was able to visit the factory of my favorite ice cream :)
Loved it! Make sure to visit flavor graveyard.
