Ryan Jensen has over ten years of experience in the specialty coffee industry, beginning as a part-time barista while in college in Missoula, MT. After moving to Washington, DC, in early 2003, he began working at murky coffee as a barista, manager and, eventually, general manager before, during and after attending the Graduate Institute at St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD.After leaving murky coffee in late 2006, Ryan spent a year and a half as the DC Customer Relations Representative for Counter Culture Coffee, a wholesale coffee roaster based out of Durham, NC. Awards and accomplishments include winning the 2005 Southeast Regional Barista Competition, competing in the 2005 United States Barista Championship, serving as a member of the USBC Committee from 2006 to 2009, and judging at the USBC 2006-2008.
