Under the direction of Chef José Andrés, Jaleo is an award-winning tapas bar with three locations in the Washington metro area. In DC's Penn Quarter since 1993, the original Jaleo location helped to transform the neighborhood into the heart of the city that it is today. And with a total renovation in March of 2012, it has been completely reborn in time for its 20th birthday. Jaleo is a Spanish word meaning revelry, fun, and bustle. Jaleo DC’s striking redesign blends this festive spirit with the unique personality and style of chef José Andrés. Led by the exciting vision of Andrés’ friend, Spanish designer and architect Juli Capella, Jaleo’s new look is “a relaxed environment of bold colors, with a hint of madness and irony, and a touch of Mediterranean surrealism,” explains Capella.
