Description
May 15th, 2021: RVer reports that Overnight RV Parking is allowed, confirming report from July 2019. State of OR allows parking in rest areas, turnouts, etc, for up to 18 hours unless there is signage to the contrary. No such signage reported here. Turnout is a wide extension of shoulder, not separated from highway, but wide enough to park well off roadway. There's a trailhead here; don't park in front of entrance to trail. Level, unlighted, appears safe, with only very light traffic noise at night. Expect hikers & dog walkers to be there in the morning.
Directions
In SE side of BR US 101, ~ 100 yards W of bridge over Lewis & Clark River.
We learned from the Overnight app that Warrenton loves not allow ANY boondocking, regardless of the business owners willingness to allow. Walmart and other stores were well marked with NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.
This turnout was level, and available. Highway and airport traffic (only helicopters for us), but not terrible during the overnight hours (we even slept with the away-from-road windows open). Not a destination, but perfect for a quick overnight when ALL RV parks are booked way ahead!
