Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on March 06, 2021We stayed here one night. There are no signs for camping spots but a lot of open grass to virtually pull off and camp anywhere. We were not sure if we would get harassed where we parked but in the morning lawn mowers were out doing there thing a the park trash collection vehicles did there thing and no one questioned us. If we had of pulled completely around the park we would have found picnic tables at different locations way off the road in the grass where it was clear vehicles pulled up to and parked. In the morning horse back riders came walking by our site. Very friendly riders.

We stayed here on a Wednesday night in September. We arrived after dark and it was very dark and finding a spot was challenging. We ended up down by the boat dock in a pull through area with a picnic table next to it. It was nice level and surrounded in trees. The setting is pretty and park like. The road noise off of I-10 is very obvious but it is less than 3 minutes off the road. Perfect for a one night stay but I wouldn’t make it a destination.

Stopped here after reading other reviews. Lots of free space washrooms were open but I didn’t use them the water was on to the sites as well. Didn’t see any other rigs here tonight but I’m happy with it.

This is a great spot for a night or two. The camping sites seem to be behind the equestrian arena, next to the open (I.e. no doors) bathrooms. There’s a shower, but it seems to be cold water only. The campsites also have water and power. There’s no one here now, but other campers may arrive after dark (it’s only 5:30). The bathrooms are relatively clean with the exception of the bugs (lots of skeeter eaters and a couple of spiders) but that’s probably due to the doors being open. I might not camp here if I were a woman camping alone, but feel totally safe with my partner with me. There are a few trucks pulling boat trailers as the boat launch is a bit further into the park. There are also other spots around the park with picnic tables where it looks like other reviewers have camped, so camping may not be relegated to just the designated sites with power and water. Great spot for free, just off of I-10 that’s nice and quiet!

Didn't realize we needed a permit but no one checked us. We did call 409-267-2729 & woman asked me to email her a photo of my Dr. License, how many nights staying & name of park. She emailed me back the permit. Nice park but I10 road noise made it uncomfortable to sit outside. Watch out for any hills too. Was able to connect with water but electric didn't work. Bathrooms weren't something I felt comfortable using.

We stayed here for 1 night in a 13’6” 41’6” Fifth wheel. It said to park on gravel areas but we could only located two of them and our height prevented us from using them. We contacted the number and did get a pass emailed to us prior to our arrival. We parked ideep enough into park so road noise wasn’t that bad. There is an area near the livestock/horse arena that has water faucets. Not sure if they should be used but water was on

Located off of the I10 near a cypress swamp. You can stay a max of 3 nights and a permit is required. We called (409) 267-2729 to obtain a permit. All it required was sending in a picture of my drivers license to the email they provided. We sent it in and received an email back with a permit within 10 minutes. We weren't given a specific area to park in so we chose to park on a grassy area near the basketball courts. It had a covered picnic table and trash can next to it as well as a ton of cypress trees.
We arrived on a Friday around 3pm and left on Sunday around 10am. The park was it's busiest in the morning. It looked like a popular spot for locals to run/walk. There is a fishing dock and boat ramp located at the North end of the park that had about 5 vehicles at it each day. There was only one other rv/camper during our stay at the park. We felt secure at this park since we saw a police office drive through at least twice a day- mainly at night.
Make sure to walk around the area you park, if on grass, as it could be pretty muddy during the rainy season and cause you to get stuck. There is an equestrian area located at one of the two entrances to the park but, it wasn't actively being used during our time there.

Great free camping spots. Call the number, email pic of drivers license, get permit. Free, very friendly person in the office. She told us we could park anywhere in the park. The electric and water are not for camper use (we were told by a worker in a county truck). There are lots of areas you could pull off and camp, some gravel some grass. Some picnic tables to use too. Drive the whole park before you decide! The best ones are on the diagonal road through the park past the basketball court towards the houses. However it was raining quite a lot while we were there so we stayed on the parking lot by the water tower. Very big rig friendly, no low trees or wires-easy for our 40 foot fifth wheel. Very close to I10 so there is highway noise. Also a propane fill place 3 miles up the road with very nice people. The park felt very safe, no one around maybe since it was raining!

It's a county park. With a horse pavilion. Or Cow pavilion if you prefer. I don't know, I was the only one there. Very clean grounds. Trash cans available. The sites have concrete picnic tables. Oh. Bring a Is fly swatter for "mosquitoes". A few of them got in my home, and when I killed them, they left a big blood stain. Otherwise a very nice place to overnight. Get there in the morning set up camp and if it's a beautiful day, it's a nice park to take a walk in.
Two bathroom houses, only one was clean. The one by the arena. No showers. I'd stay there again.

We had a pleasant stay on a Saturday. The park was lightly attended by a couple families, several fisherman by the boat ramp and two other RVs-a Class A by the arena and a 5th wheel a couple spots closer to I-10. We picked a spot far from I-10 close to the new neighborhood on the south west side of the park as recommended by a previous reviewer. It was easy access with a reasonably priced Exxon with plenty of room for big rigs right before the entrance to the park which is just off the interstate. The park is beautiful though sparse on amenities. The grounds are kept well mowed and are hard packed and easily driven over (early March-no recent rain). We had an old cement table at our site, some others had old covered tables. The bayou was visible from our site but a little treacherous to get down to the edge to fish and I caught nothing, the edges are more cleared and less steep nearer the boat ramp. Though the grounds are well maintained the bathrooms are not, sadly they were unusable and either the Texas wind or thoughtless visitor left trash here and there despite plenty of trash barrels throughout the park. We saw a sheriff patrol before dark. The park was very dark after sunset, quiet, no traffic or drama despite being a Saturday night. Some tiny mosquitos came out at dusk and were on our screens in the morning just dying to come in, none did thankfully. I would stay here again unless perhaps I was a solo female, it felt a little isolated. I appreciated the park, it is a shame others do not know what they have enough to take care of it. Call 409-267-2718 M-F for a free permit.
