This is a 2.3 mile out-and-back loop around Lake Agnes, an alpine lake in the Colorado State Forest State Park within the Never Summer Mountain Range. The lake lies within a glacial tarn surrounded by a cirque of Nokhu Crags, Static Peak, Mount Richthofen, Mount Mahler, and Braddock Peak. It is the deepest lake in the Colorado State Forest State Park.
There is a fee to enter the park and the road leading to the trailhead may be closed seasonally depending on the conditions. Check the website for additional details and alerts.
Reviews
Beautiful mountain lake after you take a trail gaining 400+ feet in elevation in about .8 miles. We are from the midwest and had difficulty breathing, but we took it slow and made it to the lake.
