Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 12, 2022I decided to stay here because there were no reviews of this campground. The folks at the check-in were very friendly. Apparently this was the first weekend the park opened after a flood.
Site 39 was high above Lake Waco on a bluff. The site was also way off the main road, which made backing in a chore. It would say I backed up fifty yards. It did make the site private, with one campsite next to me. Pretty close. It would be perfect for friends or family camping together. There was a shelter with a concrete picnic table and a grill. The restroom/shower was close, but in disrepair. The toilet was rocking, the shower curtains were barely hanging on and the water was HOT. I mean like almost burn you hot. I did a different restroom/shower the next day, and it was better all around. Some minor improvements could go a long way. Driving through, there were some way better sites with views of the lake, which made me hopeful for any future visits. Waco is about 15 mins. from this park. There are plenty of bike riding opportunities as well. If I were to stay again I would definitely stay more to the center of the park.

Site overlooking Lake Waco, quiet and serene. It’s an older campground so leveling was a bit of an issue. Sites are at odd angles and when it’s full I think folks are crowded, at least in this area. We were the only ones in this section. Did not use the facilities. Price reflects use of NP Senior Pass.

We got space 22 right on the point overlooking the lake, awesome. Drive long enough for my 34’ 5th wheel, truck and a extra car parked out front. Ten minutes from town.

This area is ok, not as good as Airport Park across the lake. This park is on the backside of town and services are a small drive away. Did the job for what we needed to come to Waco for (an Triathlon at Cameron Park.)

Lake view, 25 minutes to downtown Waco, nice staff, electric, water, and a dump station available- we would stay here again!
