“lush greenery!”
Ecosystem type: Rain forest river valley Trail tread types: low level of maintenance General elevation trend: level River crossings: The Queets River must be forded at the trailhead. Unique features: Old-growth rain forest Level of difficulty: Moderate Distance: 15.8 miles to end of trail Elevation change: 360 to 800 ft. Best Season: July through September
Getting there is tough-- you have to cross the river. It's totally walkable, and I wouldn't suggest taking a boat or canoe, since there really aren't good put-in points. Otherwise, this is a nice, relatively not-crowded hike into one of the park's stunning rainforests!
