Canales Deli, located inside Historic Eastern Market, was established in 1983. After running a successful business for 28 years, Mr. Canales saw an opportunity to establish Tortilla Café. When the location on 210 7th Street came up for lease, Mr. Canales took a chance of establishing another successful business. Tortilla Café would offer real authentic ethnic Latin American cuisine from El Salvador, Mr. Canales’s country of origin, and Mexico, creating his own distinctive dishes. After 9 years, he considers himself a very successful small business man. Now at 59, he is mentoring and training his youngest daughter, Catalina Canales, into the legacy of Canales Deli and Tortilla Café.
Whoever the idiot was that posted this place in Clatskanie, OR needs to go back to school for a geography lesson. The Columbia River and District of Columbia are indeed on opposite sides of the country.
