Food was delicious! The onion rings were the best onion rings we have ever tasted - no commercial breading and not too greasy - perfect! We were too stuffed from our lunches to try the pies but they looked amazing too. Skip the fast food and get a home cooked meal in a relaxed atmosphere and eat here - you won't be disappointed.
Great food! My husband had the chicken fried steak and i had the chicken nuggets. i love small town diners and this place hit the spot. Two people less than $20, home made food, less than 1 mile off of interstate 44, can't beat that!
Oh my good lord, this place was absolutely delicious! I got the Chicken and Drippings and it was insane. I know it was chicken, but it tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. Shredded chicken over cornbread stuffing and smothered in yummy gravy.
My one regret was that I didn't try the fried bull testicles. Definitely ask for the calf fries if you go. :)
The food was awesome! We, being curious non-locals, asked what the calf fries were...turns out, they're fried bull testicles, and they even brought us a plate to sample without us even asking! For the record, they're pretty good :)
Great food all fresh, best hash browns, eggs, and biscuits were very good. Tried chicken fried steak, I am not a big meat eater and I wouldn’t add that to my must eat meats. Nice atmosphere. Nice staff. Worth a stop, better food than fast food or chains.
Damn good chicken fried steak! And the desserts are delicious
My mother and I were highly underwhelmed with all of the food we had. Ed got their fried green beans, mushrooms, and onion rings and found them to be quite tasteless. For our main course we had the cheese quesadilla and the bacon cheeseburger. Both were adequate but nothing special. Finally we shared their chocolate pie. It was reminiscent of commercially packaged chocolate pudding but the whipped cream helped make up for it. Overall, not bad... Just not noteworthy.
If your in a hurry at lunch time, this is not your spot. It seemed everyone in town was there to eat and I can see why. Great ole' country cookn and a very friendly staff. Well worth the trouble.
