Veneta's Downtown Farmers' Market is a great way to start your weekend! Stop, shop and pick up seasonal berries, fresh produce or local honey on your way home or while traveling through the area. The Farmers' Market is a project of the City of Veneta designed to increase community support for local farms. The city hopes the farmers' market will assist community members to decrease their environmental impact, increase their consumption of local food, create relationships with local farmers and increase local knowledge on the benefits of buying local products. Located on the corner of W. Broadway Ave and Territorial Hwy in Veneta Beginning June 6th, every Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. area farmers will sell fresh, locally grown produce and other agricultural products on the vacant lot next to Our Daily Bread Restaurant. The market will remain open on the fourth of July and on the following Friday, which takes place during the Oregon Country Fair. Featured products include cut flowers, dried fruit, eggs, fresh herbs, green beans, grass-fed beef, honey,vegetable starts, salad greens, seasonal berries, yellow squash and zucchini.
