Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on February 07, 2022This former KOA (now a Good Sam park) has level pullthrough sites of various lengths up to 110 feet long. Spacing between the sites was average for an RV Park: fairly close together, but not right on top of each other. The park is almost entirely gravel, with a few small patches of grass at some sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free WiFi worked well sometimes, but was slow or unusable at other times. Verizon and AT&T had strong signal and worked well. There are two smallish fenced dog areas, and lots of open area nearby for slightly longer walks. We were only there for two nights while waiting out a snow storm so we didn't use any other amenities. We'd stay here again for an overnight stop.

This was a pretty basic "KOA style" private campground. The sites are level and typical for this type of campground. The staff is very friendly and they do a good job of keeping the place clean and in working order. Verizon internet was good. The utilities work well.
Probably the best thing going for this place is it's easy access from I-10 and the fact that it's still far enough from the freeway that highway noise is not a problem. There is a train that runs through town about a mile away, but it's not so close as to be an annoyance.

Had a good night sleep. A distant train was heard while awake. Wi-Fi weak. Restaurant on the property...and they will deliver! Dirt spaces. For an overnight good.

Easy check-in and friendly staff. Easy on/off the interstate. Our site was pretty level and long enough for our 45 MH and tow. Decent enough spacing between sites. Interior roads and sites are gravel and red dirt. Except for the occasional train whistle, it was pretty quiet. Can hear traffic faintly off in the distance from the highway. The WII FI didn’t work – we could connect but there was no internet. Directv and Verizon worked fine. There is a small restaurant on site but we didn’t visit. They give you a menu when you check-in though. Good for an overnight.

I didn’t expect much, pleasant check in, old but clean rest rooms, laundry, not bad outside temperature, cable, 30 amp at my site, cafe wasn’t open, only about a dozen other units there on a Tuesday Sept 10, 2019. Some grass, some sites didn’t have picnic table. Dog area.

Used this as a rest stop after long haul across I10. Quiet, nice big sites so didn’t have to disconnect toad. Best part was the terrific home cooked meal in their little cafe. Wow, yum to the German spiced baked chicken, mashed & greenbeens. My wife had butterfly shrimp & it was extremely fresh. Cucumber salad was just like her German mother’s recipe! So friendly, too!
The only complaint was the dog area. We were so looking forward to getting in there to let our pups run around but the whole thing was full of that nasty goat weed with the stickers. Our pups limped out of there & we had to pick them all out of their pads & tail. Got them stuck in our fingers pulling them out. OUCH! So no place for the dogs really. The place definitely looks a bit run down in spots but if you are looking for a good place just to stop, eat well & have a great night sleep with good hook up services, it’s fine.

This is an old KOA park that was purchased by current owners 6 years ago. Doesn’t look like many improvements have been done. All sites were gravel and our site was level. Good free Wi/Fi. No OTA TV channels. Cable provided but it wasn’t digital version so all stations were fuzzy. We had 3 bars AT&T service. You will hear noise from I-40 as well as few trains that run day and night. What a nice surprise to have Penny’s Cafe in the RV park. It served good country-style meals for dinner and breakfast. Ok choice for an overnight stay.

Boy were we glad to see this place after first checking out the Oasis park. This place is clean. The site was level and the people were very nice. They have a cafe on site and we ate there for breakfast and it was outstanding!
We ate dinner at the Hotel El Capitan and it was a pleasant surprise also. Wifi was good too.

We stopped here for one night on our from San Antonio to Los Angeles. Easy to get to from the freeway, nice pull through site, very clean, good water pressure, and the owner was very nice. We would stay here again.
