This a wonderful gem close to Vail. In fact the only place close to Vail for Rv's/tent camping. Spaces are kinda tight and never saw a class A when I did the loop. Chatted with the camp host who advised me on other places to try near by. No where in this trendy area can you stay for $23.00. Low traffic noise, 3 bars of Verizon 4G and right off the I 70 corridor. Doggie rating 1. Strictly 6 ft leash.
Whether slow rolling by and seeing the several towns in the area or zooming past on I 70, this place is your go to spot!

I can't comment on the RV sites, but the tent spots are beautiful. There's one parking lot for everyone's cars as you'll have to walk up to your site (not far at all but will need a few trips).
Sites are far enough from each other and have enough trees as barriers to not hear your neighbors. Highway noise is definitely there (campground is off the 70) but quiet enough that it's just background noise. Some more spacious than others (#25 was pretty big and secluded).
#23 was a single site but we easily fit (2) 3-person tents.
Overall, beautiful campground and super close to Vail village and nearby hikes. No where else can you stay in this area for this cheap.
Stayed in early August, warm days and very cool nights.

We got a campsite right on the Gore Creek side of the campground. It is dry camping. But, the environment is so gorgeous, with the wonderful white noice of a rushing creek water, it is worth having no services for a few days, sans general bathrooms. For dinner, we drove to the East Vail side of town and enjoyed a fabulous gourmet dinner along the Gore. After that experience I cannot describe what a treasure it was to drive a few miles back to Gore Creek Campground to settle in for the night. Truly magic. We are in site 14. Perfect!

Book well in advance, always full. But for good reason! Well maintained, quiet, easy access! Off the beaten path and well worth it! Great hiking areas, running stream. Tents and trailer camping areas.
Will be back!

This campground's location is superior. You are in a beautiful natural area, yet 10 minutes from Vail, and 1/2 hour from Dillon & Frisco. Breckenridge is a bit further.
If you can get a site next to the creek (we did) Kudos! It is a beautiful sight - peaceful. It roars to the degree others say - don't bother turning on your sound machine.
We have a 28' trailer - wouldn't want anything larger for this campground.

Because Gore Creek campground was closed, we find another place v clise to stop for the night at Head trail parking lot of Deluge Lake Trail & Gore Creek Trail. Is free but you have to self-check at the trail head Locals does not like it but We asked for permission and I think it was ok. See pics w exact location & address.

This campground is in beautiful surroundings with trails and sites right next to the creek. It's dry camping, but the rest stop in nearby Edwards is a great place to dump and fill with potable water, for free. We stopped and filled up once before arriving at the campground. I believe these are first come first served, and when we arrived, the sign said full (and the board said closed) but as soon as we pulled in, the camp host let us know which sites we had to choose from.
Wonderful, friendly camp hosts. Very clean restrooms. Good Verizon signal. Hiking and mountain biking trailheads almost directly from the campground. Apparently a moose walked through our site while we were still sleeping. We missed it, but the camp hosts let us know about it later that morning!
