Pulled in at 9:05 but gates were already closed. Looks to be that gates are open 7 am-9 pm. It didn't matter because the campsite was completely full. The campground was right by the water and looked to be that campsites didn't offer much privacy, but again we didn't end up staying there and it was dark so I can't be sure. It appeared to have bathrooms and showers available. I believe the cost was $15 a night.
Quail Creek Reservoir (590 acres) is an attractive reservoir situated beneath red rock cliff walls. Quail Creek State Park along its southwestern shore offers a paved boat ramp, picnic area, swimming beach and a modern campground. The reservoir yields rainbow trout, bass and blue gill.
There is an old section and a new section to this park. The new section has fabulous views, nice long driveways that are level and most concrete.
This place is gorgeous! Surrounded by hills and canyon-type rock formations and, of course, the lake. Enough space in between each site. The bathrooms were clean. The lake is an active one so it is not a quiet one. The picnic table has shade! AT&T had signal.
The only issue i had were the darn spiders. They were EVERYWHERE. Though i suppose they are relatively harmless, they come out at sunset and start making webs. And I mean EVERYWHERE. My picnic table had like 3 and each bush had like 12 making webs. Kinda made me feel like one would cross paths with me but they kept to themselves.
