Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on March 10, 2022We are disappointed with this campground, although we typically do not stay in campgrounds. However, there was weather coming through the area, and we did not want to be on dirt.
We have a large (40 foot) 5th Wheel with a high overall clearance, and a 25 foot truck. When we called to make the reservation, we asked that there were no trees on the site, we gave our dimensions and that we would like two nights.
The work camper (who had only been working there 2 weeks) stated that she had a site for us. The site, 39, was maybe long enough to put our Truck, but not the rig! So we changed from being there two nights to just one, and was going for site 41, but it had low branches. So we got a pull through at site 3. I realize that the work camper is new. Really they did not have anything available for more than one night for us.
The reason this gets 3 stars rather than one star is that their wifi is pretty fast for a Kanab UT campground. There was some road noise, but we don't mind that. The electricity, 50 amp, works fine. Water pressure is good.
Pool was not open yet. We did not check out the bathrooms as it was raining. There is a code for the bathrooms as well as a password for the wifi, which you get at the office when you check in.
The site is relatively level, although we had small blocks on our driver's side.
Tip: This campground is good for smaller rigs, motorhomes or travel trailers that do not have slides. The picture we have shows our slide out and our view.
Also found out that they used to have more pull throughs but they had to make them back ins. That is too bad as they only have 44 sites within the campground and now only 4 sites that are pull throughs.
The campground looked clean, but muddy in a few spots. While they have gravel, the between areas of the sites are not gravel, so when it is raining, you have mud. There was a picnic table at the site, but it was raining so we did not use it.
They only take Good Sam and AAA (I guess for tent campers?).
When we leave, we might hit branches of a large bush.

We needed a spot in Kanab for a few days and this was the best of limited choices. It's very conveniently located, and you can walk to a variety of stores nearby. It was also fairly quiet for being "in town". The WiFi was amazingly fast, better than 95% of RV parks we've stayed at. The big drawback for us is that the sites are very narrow, and many back-in sites (ours included) have a tree on both sides at the entrance to the site, making backing in a challenge. There's no room for error, and the tree branches are low enough to rub both sides of our motorhome on the way into the site. Rigs are very close together, no breathing room. There's a tiny fenced dog park, but we glanced at it and kept going, instead walking our bigger dog along some nearby streets. Since it seems to be the best option in town we would consider staying here again if we need to be in Kanab in the future, or we might try to find nearby boondocking instead if the weather is favorable.

This park prides itself on its fast WiFi and that’s why we picked it- we had some work to do and blogging to catch up on- and we had a strong, fast connection the whole time.
The park is convenient to everything in the town of Kanab and we were able to walk to restaurants and ride our bikes to the visitor center each morning for the lottery for permits to hike the wave. We didn’t win the lottery but there are plenty of other awesome hikes and outdoor adventures in the area.
The one downside of the park is it is right next to a busy road- we had a site that backed right up to it- there was definitely road noise all though we were not bothered by it. We were more concerned with our dog possibly running into the road- which thankfully he didn’t.
Showers are really nice as is the dog park, pool wasn’t open yet when we were there but looked nice as well.

Great campground in a gorgeous part of Utah I didn’t know about! Check in was a breeze, owner was polite and helpful on the area. Everything is gravel, but well packed. Nice clean pool, laundry facilities were good. WiFi was excellent. Sites are about normal for a private park, so kinda close, but not touching neighbors. Dog park had grass! Nice size area for the pooches. Sets off the main road through town, but it calms down after 10, so the road noise wasn’t noticeable. No “camp store” but plenty of restaurants and grocery’s nearby. You could easily stay here and visit Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park, they’re all less than 80 miles. Lots of interesting history around. This was a big filming spot for old westerns. There is a driving trail close by that has lots of natural backdrops from some of the old tv shows and movies, even the town from “Gunsmoke”. I would definitely stay here again.

Called after hours at the last minute and the staff was great. We arrived an hour later and the owner greeted us at the office and guided us to our spot. This campground is a small very clean and we'll organized park. Close to Zion and Bryce. I have a hard time believing anyone could give this campground less than 5 stars.

Summary: A good overnight stop for us. Would be good for a longer stay to explore the area. There is some noise from the highway that runs right along the perimeter of the park.
Sites: We had one of the "XL" pull-thru sites which were sufficiently long for our 42ft 5th wheel. There are many back-in sites around the perimeter of the park. Site was very level and the entire park appeared to be level. Gravel throughout. Very close to our neighbors.
Hook-ups: Full hookups are available and the placement of the utilities are in the middle of the site.
Amenities: There is a pool (closed for winter). Ther is a laundry room and bathhouse.
Activities: Not any activities in the park that we are aware of.
Staff: The person we dealt with was great.
Area: Kanab is a great place to basecamp for exploring Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon (North Rim), Grand Staircase, etc. There are a couple of grocery stores, coffee shops, fuel stations, restaurants, etc. There is a Pizza Hut next to the park.
Reservations: We didn't make a reservation.
Access: Easy access off of state highway 89 and the interior roads are wide and easy to navigate.
Cell Coverage/Internet/TV: 3 bars of AT&T
Price: The price seemed high for what you get.

After a week of Boondocking in some very remote locations in AZ I needed to do the typical civilization stuff today and a little RV maintenance. So I thought I would treat myself to a night at the RV corral… I don’t often get full hook ups but for $35 for the night, I couldn’t resist. I had stayed here maybe three or four years ago just as an overnight on the way to and fro for an art show. Since my last visit it’s under new ownership and it is just adorable and pleasant here… Check in was a breeze and so friendly. I did laundry, the laundry room is clean and adorable. This time of year and during this Covid pandemic it’s not that crowded here so that’s kind of the way I like it. So if you’re passing through Kanab and you need a place for the night this is a great spot or for a couple of days as a base camp. And Wi-Fi is really good here if you’re close to the office as well. There’s a little road noise from 89A but like I said, town is not crowded so it really wasn’t an issue but I’m just used to places that are so quiet it hurts your ears.

Nicely landscaped with clean facilities. Great laundry room and bathrooms cleaned daily. Located with easy access to everything in Kanab. Quiet park except on Memorial day weekend and then loaded up with lots of off road enthusiasts. Right next to highway 89 but this is a quiet part of Utah and traffic is non-existent at night. Very comfortable place to stay with full hookups and good wifi. Good area in the back sites for big rigs. We were in a small 25 foot class C so no problems as all. Also very good water pressure for showers. No cable TV but that is the only thing I can think of that might be considered a negative by some.

Our site was on the back side of the campground away from 89A. We never heard any traffic from 89A, the campground was overall nice and quiet. Sites are a little on the skinny side, enough room for slides but not a lot of extra space between neighboring sites. Many of the sites have nice large shade trees, so make sure to check Google Earth if you care to figure out which sites you want most. Most sites are packed gravel. Upon check in we were greeted with a great attitude and a smile.
Sites cost $37 to $45 per night depending on which one you reserve. There is a 10% discount for Good Sam Members, however there is an extra charge for each person over two (0-3 Free, 4-15 $2 each, 16+ $4 each).
The campground was pretty much full the entire time we were there, so I recommend reservations. Pool, bathroom, showers, and laundry room were all nice and well kept / clean. WiFi was great / strong, could easily stream Netflix, Hulu, etc.
Location is ideal for exploring the area, kind of in the middle off everything with Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon, similar distances apart, lots of hiking,
My only major complaint was the power. During the heat of the day (around 90+ degrees) with all the air conditioners running, the voltage in the park drops low enough to be a concern often down around 110 volts, one day it dropped enough that my power protection/surge unit disconnected. This occurred why we were away and the voltage was still to low to turn back on when we got back. Unfortunately it was 90 degrees in the trailer.
