“Two campsites close by”
Ten X Campground is located just off Hwy 180 4.3 miles south of the Grand Canyon Village. Ten X is primarily used as an overflow campground for the more heavily used campgrounds along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Of the 70 campsites, 18 are regular family sites and 52 are pull through allowing for trailers up to 22' in length. Larger families may be accommodated at the discretion of the campground host. Firewood can be obtained at the camp host or by hunting for dead or downed wood in the surrounding areas. Adjacent to the Ten X campground is the Charlie Tank Group Campground. Reservations for the Charlie Tank site can be made by calling 928-638-2443. Water is available at Ten X.

Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on September 08, 2022Great campsite that's not too expensive or too far from the southern rim. Also, there were some elk that liked to roam around the campsite. They aren't bothered by humans, maybe because everyone leaves them be and just take pictures from a distance.
Out side loop non reservable good availability. Hosts are nice and easygoing. Close to the Park. A lot of free sites on the NF roads near by but with a lot of resent rain and snow they are pretty rutted. S i parked my 5th wheel at the campground.

Date of stay: Sept. 20-27, 2019, rate reflects 50% Access Pass discount...Only 6 miles outside the Grand Canyon's south entrance with large, well-spaced, paved sites in a beautiful piney woods setting, you just can't go wrong here. We chose our huge pull-thru spot on the non-reservable loop due to its sun exposure for our solar panels. It was easily long/large enough to fit two of us, and we did see several smaller RVs doubled up in sites. It was allowable to share sites as long as all rigs paid separately. Sites had concrete picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Clean, stocked pit toilets and dumpsters were located throughout the park. Drinking water was available in the park, but no RV fill was permitted.
There is a short nature/interpretive loop trail in the park, and although the group camp section was closed to camping, it allowed for additional walking area.

Beautifully tucked in the pines and just outside of the Grand Canyon entrance. Sites are well spaced and come with fire rings and grills. Water and restrooms on site and shower and laundry in town (which is very close). The entrance coming in is a bit narrow But roads are in pretty good shape! Would absolutely stay again!

Pros:
- Camping in a shaded forest with tons of trees (great for setting up hammocks)
- Wildlife is incredible - pack of elk roamed the campsites every morning, lots of owls & hawks flying too
- Very close to the Grand Canyon, but enough space between campsites to feel secluded and private
- No full hookups, but fresh water, trash, and bathrooms are free, clean and plentiful
Cons:
- If booking close in, you may need to move campsites every 1-2 days
- Uneven, dirt/gravel campsites so bring levelers and stabilizers
- Bear warning are very serious (this is not a problem, unless you leave any trash/food outside)

First time out camping in an RV (rented from Cruise America) so we were learning as we went. Had a nice pull through, fairly level and a large and flat area to relax at. Honestly it felt like one of the better spots within the campground (for us), just wish we could've lit a fire (ring was provided but due to restrictions no open flame (wood or charcoal). Nights were cool enough to keep windows open (we stayed July 3-6), pit toilets were clean as can be expected, water available for filling up our reserves (jugs). Little bit of road noise, but not much to complain about. 10 minute drive from the GC main entrance and 5 minutes from the town. Enjoyed it!

We had a reservation but was still shocked it was so empty! Nice campground with spacious spots. Would definitely come back. No cell service, hook ups or dump. But there is a free dump right inside GCNP.

It appears that late May is a fabulous time to visit the area. Daytime temps were in the 70s and down to freezing at night. The campground is under renovation and development right now, so perhaps it will change the experience, but even though it was full it was incredibly quiet. Our site (16) was private and huge. Oddly, the picnic tables were on the wrong side of the driveway, however this did not bother us since we bring our own camp tables. The driveway, though incredibly long, was sort of torqued so it took some real effort to find a spot where we could get the trailer level. In the end, we we partially off the driveway to make that happen. We had a visit from an elk one morning, which was incredibly special. The campground was full, or near to it, but we had very little noise. It's dry camping, so an occasional generator was running, but we are solar and MANY of the sites were taken up by tent campers. The campground is only about 20 min away from the Grand Canyon, so we spent a couple of days exploring there. And there are quite a few geocaches in the national forest outside of the Park, if you are into that. We will be back, though we are a bit nervous that all the "improvements" will take away from the private, peaceful ambiance. We'll see. The price is what we paid per night with our senior pass.

Stayed here for 3 nights visiting the Grand Canyon. We Loved the spacious sites for our kids to run around and explore! We have a 30’ Rv and had no problem in the pull through sites. Most of them are very big and easily handle a 35+ Rig. The spots are very spread out. The park is also very well maintained and has many hiking trails that link up to the Kaibab National Forest. The town of Tusayan is about 5-10min away but you feel very secluded. We picked up water and filled our tanks for free outside of Flagstaff at a Pilot gas station. We would recommend doing that since you could be charged $10 for 15 gallons at the local RV park or $3 a gallon at some of the gas stations. You can get water here but it is limited. We will be staying here again!

Located 5 miles from the South Rim visitor center, this campground was a great reprieve from the crowds. Spacious sites, quiet, in the pines. Verizon hotspot worked for our wifi.
