This is close to home so whenever we are returning home from the south or west I will stop here. It is run by the City of Tulare at their Wastewater Treatment Plant. You pull up to the pad, align your tank outlet. Remove the cap and pull the handle! All the 'goodness' flows down their grate. All that is asked is that you hose down the pad after you are done so you don't leave any remnants. There are plenty stuck to the grate.
I didn't give it 5 stars since the exit is tricky. You can either make a U turn (hard in our 31') or head west down a rough gravel road.
But you don't have to get the slinky stinky!!
Run by wastewater plant….just a clogged up gutter full of shit….disgusting.
The worst part about this is the folks at this facility are public servants with a job important to public health, and I absolutely do not trust anyone here gives a hoot about public health. This disgusting facility needs to be shutdown, it’s a potential vector for disease and it’s awful. Vast swarms of some crazy giant mosquito-like flying insects hover around an OPEN PIT OF HUMAN WASTE where you dump DIRECTLY ONTO THE GROUND. Have you heard the term “fomite?” Disease spreads this way, and there is no way for a heavy rain NOT to be carrying this disease elsewhere. It is so disgusting, and entirely fixable, just convert it to a proper dump station. This is an area with a lot of migrant farm workers and this station isn’t intended for travelers like me, it’s to keep this waste off of remote dirt roads where farm workers are forced to live without proper hookups. Relocating that waste to an OPEN PIT is not the answer!!! I recently sold a property in Tulare County and am bummed I am no longer a registered voter there, if I were I’d be all over Supervisor Townsend to shut this nasty site down.
Unless you’re down to your last $15 and can’t afford a dump fee, DO NOT GO HERE.
