Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on March 09, 2023All sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. Call ahead and see what their availability is. They also have a huge overflow section where you can dry camp, and wait for a spot to open up. All RV sites have full hook-ups, quaintly located in a cute little light post. :)
This was our first time staying at a FamCamp. As an Army veteran (my husband) we are thoroughly impressed with the friendliness, cleanliness, and overall environment of the FamCamp. Connecting with other veterans from other services makes it feel more like home, rather than just an RV park.
The camp has so many amenities, like a dog wash, free wifi, laundry rooms, showers, trails, etc. Everything is clean and pristine, as you would expect at any military facility. There are a lot spaces, and they are all easily accessible for just about any size rig. Each spot has a level, gravel pad with a cement patio, picnic table, and full hookups (elegantly hidden in a lamp post). Everyone camping here keeps their site clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
With fighter jets flying overhead, 0700 Reveille and 1700 Retreat, you get a warm and fuzzy feeling just being amongst your kind! 🙂 Staying here helps reminds us that people still care about this country, serving it with pride, and that freedom still exists!

Agave Gulch Fam Camp on Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson was our first military Fam Camp. What an outstanding experience!
The Full Hook up camp sites are on a first come basis. We weren’t able to get a full hook up site but we able to get a overflow spot which is dry camping. We were thrilled as this space is huge with only a few campers. We love dry camping so this was just what we were looking for. A full hook up spot came open while we were there and they called to offer it to us which I thought was very considerate.
The Fam Camp facilities are amazing! The campground is very clean overall. Heated bathrooms with showers, laundry room, dog wash area, fire pit area, tennis area, nice dog walking area and free WiFi. The office has a sitting area with tables, coffee and a small library.
With my husband being retired Air Force, we felt so at home at Agave Gulch Fam Camp. We stayed 3 nights and will definitely come back. I would highly recommend Agave Gulch!

Another amazing FamCamp! Great views of the mountains in the morning. No reservations made it kinda tough arriving on a Friday, would recommend coming in before the weekend for better odds.
Lots of dry camping spots available...sewer and water fill available though bring your generator. You will have constant A10s flying overhead...we all loved it and it’s to be expected staying on the AFB!
Kids will enjoy a nearby (base) sk8 park, rock wall and nearby playgrounds; for military families. Long dog walking trails, or walk through the base, view the Boneyard through the fence line, etc. There was no WiFi available at the time of our stay.

Maybe there was a misunderstanding on our behalf as far as camping in this area. Listen to the phone message said that first come first serve is available my husband is a veteran when we arrived at the it was closed there gate was locked and there was a stop sign so we had to figure how to go around to the other gate, once we were there we had to stand in line for about 10 minutes to go in and get a pass, went in my husband showed his veterans card and was denied to go in to the campground. The young officer said my husband needed a department of defense ID, but from my understanding from the phone recording it said veterans. If anybody can help me understand this it would be grateful appreciated thank you so much. We showed the young officer my husband‘s veterans card from Illinois veterans association. But was still denied 🙅♀️

noisy & basically a gravel parking lot (dry camping overflow) for $11/night. their “reservation” method is bizarre.
pros: dump station laundry water showers & toilets
cons: noisiest campground ever - walmart parking lot on the interstate was quieter

No reservations taken at this popular famcamp. Thus we landed in overflow for the two nights we stayed. Was told at check-in that wait list was long. Overflow area is large bare ground with rock dividers designating sites. Sites have a picnic table and are large with long pull thru. Was told at check-in if need to run generator during quiet hours that is permissible if needed to stay comfortable. Temp did get down into the upper 40’s in the morning but we were okay without running generator. Plenty of sites available in overflow. No wi-fi at this time, is under repair. In past have been able to get in to full hook-up site without delay but not this visit.

First come campground but had lots of open spots. Picked a nice shady site near laundry and bathrooms. A few jets flying during the day, but very quiet evenings. Will stay here whenever we come this way again.

Overall this was a great campground. Pull-thrus, easy access to the amenities on base, close to the city center, full hookups, etc. They even had a pet bathing area, dog run, pickle ball court, and pavilions.
What we didn't like though were the very loud buggle calls. 0700, 1700, and 2200. It wouldn't be so bad if weren't parked right next to the speaker. The rest of the stay was great. The kids liked going to the parks close by. Halloween was a great time to be there as there were plenty of trick-or-treaters. Would stay again... at a different site, far away from the speaker.
Starlink gave us 65 down and 5 up. Verizon and AT&T were both 5 bars with our cell antenna. Verizon was 4 bars on the phone.

We came here in January to stay for a few days. The rules state that you can stay 21 days and then you may extend if there is no one in overflow, however this only applies to people who don’t sign a 3 month contract. Which can be extended with another contract when that one is up. If you visit in the winter the odds of getting a hook up site are not good. Unless you are willing to wait in overflow (no hook ups) for at least a week (make sure you put your name on the waitlist). The sites are large and gravel. Depending on where your site is you may have to walk quite a way to the “dog area” but they are nice fenced areas.

We generally really like the FamCamp here. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly and easy to reach by phone. However, the office really needs to improve their process for tracking occupied vs. vacated campsites.
We spent 2 days in the overflow area waiting for a FHU spot, and were really happy when we got one. But it turns out, they sold us a spot that was in fact still occupied. We didn't find out this out until later that evening (after office hours and after dark) when the occupant returned and knocked on our door wondering why we were in his site, which he had paid to stay in for several more days. And, there was no camp host or after-hours phone number posted anywhere to resolve the situation. Luckily, he understood that we hadn't intentionally taken his spot, and he graciously parked somewhere else until the morning when he & my husband went to the office to try and resolve the double-booking.
We were really disappointed in the response of the office staff, who took a very cavalier attitude about the whole thing and blamed the computer system for the double-booking. Not only did they not apologize or take responsibility for their error, but they also wouldn't do anything to compensate the other camper who lost his paid-for FHU spot to us, AND who wound up in a spot without working electricity!
It seems like the office could easily check the reservation status of sites that appear vacant, and call the occupant if there's a question about whether the site has been vacated or not before selling the spot to someone else. And, at the very least, they could really improve their customer service when they make a booking error like that.
