Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 24, 2019Nice spot right off 89 between Truckee & Tahoe City. Site 8 was listed as a pull-through, but really you just pull alongside the camping spot. Our trailer was separated from the picnic area & firepit by a large bush. Road noise near the river was minimal. Cell signal varied greatly, but we were able to get 1-2 bars of LTE if you had your phone in the right spot. Nice short trail along the river. A bear visited in the night, so lock up your food.

Nice little campground. The sites near the river are pretty quiet, not much road noise. Cute little campground with a bit of a view. Mostly this is a good campground to get away from the crowds right on Lake Tahoe and work for a few days. Verizon didn't work at all here for us. We use Google Fi and it work really well.

Nice site. Camped in #8. Road noise not much of a problem close to the river. Best sites are 8-10 & 19-20

Very clean with freshwater and bear lockers. Just be aware it is literally right next to a busy road that kept busy well until past 10PM.

If you're lucky, this can be a great campground! Some of the sites closest to the highway are not so desirable and a few of the sites share a wide parking site (making them not so good for RV's) but the majority of sites are quite nice. Road noise isn't too bad, especially if you have an RV.
Despite what earlier reports say, there are NO flush toilets here, but the vault toilets are some of the cleanest I've ever seen - kudos to the current hosts.
The river, when it's not a trickle like right now, is very close - a couple of the sites give you a tiny peek of it, but for the most part you have to set beyond the trees and vegetation to get to it.
If you have an RV, this camp is FAR better than Silver Creek, the sister down the road. I would not want to pull a trailer through that one! (Though people do.)
The location is nice - beautiful trees and river - and only about 5 minutes to the edge of Truckee and 10 to Tahoe City. The excellent bike path starts at Squaw Valley, about 4 miles away and the highway to there has wide bike lanes if you want to risk that in a world of distracted phone using drivers.
Great trip!

Wooded campsite just off the main road and pretty small. Further back site give you walking access to the river. The sites are large and pretty spread out. Camp host is friendly and helpful. There is a water tap at the front entrance. You are in great proximity between truckee trails and Tahoe city.

We have this a 4 as our spot was the closest to the road and could hear it all the time.
We have a 25ft pull behind with one slide out and had no problem
Host was friendly and did his best to check in with everyone and keep things updated.
We were there over the 4th of July and that day it was loud but expected. Other days were much more calm
There is a path down the hill from the camp site that I recommend walking as it’s right by the river.
Most sites are shady so if you’re looking to use solar it might be hard but you will get some in most spots.
Toilets in both the north and south loop. These were kept clean. Reminder to close the lid (it keeps the smell in the right place)
