This is a decent campsite and is close to Tahoe. Has a water spigot and vault toilets. Three reasons we will not be coming back here:
1. Although there is reasonable Verizon coverage, during high traffic, LTE slows down to a halt. Since I was working during the day, this was an issue.
2. Lots of road noise.
3. No river access.

This is a small, quaint campground right off of Highway 89 and close to the Truckee River. It has very clean vault toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, and potable water. The camp hosts are very nice! I am a female solo traveler and felt very safe here. The river is just a short walk away. The river moves rather swiftly but it’s not that deep. It’s not for swimming but you can get in enough to get wet and cool off. There was bear activity while I stayed there but I didn’t see any. There are bear lockers if you need to use them. Because the campground is close to the highway you do hear highway noise but it slows down at night and did not bother me.

It's located in the beautiful pine trees along the Truckee River so it's hard to go wrong. The highway is very close so noise is a bit of an issue, but usually fairly quiet at night. Close to Squaw Valley and Tahoe City.
For tent campers, it's a pretty nice place, but I'd be very wary of coming here with anything but a small trailer or motorhome as the roads inside the camp are very narrow and hive fairly tight, tree-lined corners. Access to the camp is piece of cake, it's just the roads inside.

Low hanging branches and narrow roads made it a bit hard to get to sites. The sites themselves are quite big but some sites have parking space for only one vehicle. Road noise is present, less at night. $20/night self pay station and awesome river access to Truckee river. About 10 minutes to Tahoe city.
