Traverse City Turkey Trot

Up North Media organizes the SIXTH annual Traverse City Downtown Turkey Trot for Charities. This year, the race starts at Thirlby Field Stadium on 14th Street. Packet pick-up and pre-race will be at Thirlby Field.  The 5K and 5M courses will run through downtown Traverse City. Participants receive a long sleeve T-Shirt and fabulously stuffed Goody Sack, and enjoy fun entertainment along the route.  Youth medals will be provide for the 5K finishers.
There will be special Trot Photo Opportunities and event head bands and neck warmers for sale.  amples and treats and you might just be the lucky winner of the hidden pie coupon and take home a GT pumpkin pie.  Coastguard and Colorguard, Silent Auction, local talent singing the National Anthem are just a few things in the hopper for Thanksgiving morning!
The event combines families, fun and fitness.
Canned good donations will be accepted and support  the Saint Francis Ffood Pantry this year.  Dog food and pet supplies are also accepted and support H.A.N.D.D.S.  All event proceeds going to local Charities.
5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk Race Event The 5K will find you shoulder to shoulder with fun runners and families, and those ready for a bit of exercise prior to a Thanksgiving Celebration. Toddlers in strollers are FREE and encouraged to participate. Children running or walking must register. Strollers and dogs on a lease are welcome to join but need to start from the back of the group (Dogs are not allowed on Thirlby Field and will be re-routed Start/Finish and runners with a dog will not be timed).
5M Flier The addition of the 5M Flier for those seeking a longer distance.  Some of the same starting route and then the runners combine back up to finish on the the field.
The TROT Beneficiaries The Race is to benefit Traverse area non-profits. 
Home in Plenty of time for the Holidays To ensure a timely arrival at your Holiday Feast, we’ll be starting the 5K Run/Walk 9AM and the 5M Flier at 9AM.
AWARDS 5k & 5M - Top 3 Overall M/F Finishers; Top Master M/F; Top  M/F Age Group Finishers.  Age groups are generally: up to 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 or higher.  Results will be posted during the event and on this web site.
