“third-generation world gourmet food shop”
Folgarelli’s Market was started by Boniface “Fox” and Marge Folgarelli in 1978. Since that time the market has undergone plenty of changes and is into its third generation of family ownership. The Market was originally based on the “Old World” concept that Fox had grown up and worked in since 1942 in Detroit with Lombardi Foods wholesale and retail stores. Moving to Traverse City to be closer to their daughter Donna and Grandchildren after retirement, boredom set in and Folgarelli’s Market was born. Since then Folgarelli’s Market & Wine Shop has become a cornerstone of old world, gourmet foods and wine in Northern Michigan.
