Situated on 80 acres on Old Mission Peninsula with breathtaking views of the East Grand Traverse Bay, Brys Estate, a boutique winery began with the planting of 32 acres of European vinifera grapes in 2001. The vineyard consists of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Brys Estate wines are fully estate grown and bottled. Using the highest quality standards, we hand pick our grapes and handcraft our single vineyard, small batch wines. Attention is given to every detail as we crush, ferment, age and bottle our wines. We have won over 220 medals in International and local wine competitions since opening in 2005, including three medals in the esteemed 2010 International Wine & Spirits Competition in London, as well as the 2009 Hardings Cup for the best Cab Franc in Michigan and the 2006 Wine Literary Award in San Francisco for "Best New Red Wine Discovery" for our 2005 Cabernet Franc. Visitors will delight in a pure Michigan experience as they wind their way past the 1890's renovated farmhouse, barn turned into a storybook guest cottage, lush gardens and vineyards as they make their way to the state-of-the-art winery. Visit our unique old-world brick and mahogany tasting room that offers views into our vaulted International barrel and cask rooms, where our red wines are aged in traditional French oak barrels.
