Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 14, 2019Had terrible storms including tornadoes in the area during our stay. High winds caused a tree limb to nearly hit our travel trailer but no response from management like an offer for safer shelter or any concern for those in the campground during or after this event. You would think a family oriented campground could have staff checking on campers and removing debris but we saw nothing. Very poor response to severe weather.

We usually go to Pigeon Forge several times each year. About 5 years ago a young couple told us of a really nice campground right off the main drag. We checked it out and loved it. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. The owners do not bother you in anyway but if you need help they are right there. At least that is always been the experience we have had. Tucked away right by the Little Pigeon River.

This is a great place to stay for all things Pigeon Forge. It is dead center in the middle of all the attractions and a very short drive from Dollywood. The sites are all concrete pads that are very level. The sites are close to each other but that shouldn’t matter since all the fun is to be had on the strip with various attractions. There is a river as the name would imply but 80% of sites are not on the river and this is not an attraction unto itself as you really are in the middle of a city. Availability was good even on a busy week where Dollywood was overcrowded. The sites accommodate all size rigs. 20/30/50 amp power, water and sewer is standard. They have WiFi but it is slow. They have cable TV if you bring a cable. Check in was easy but they do not accept credit cards (cash and debit cards ok). Cellular coverage was excellent with fast data speeds.

We stayed here for a week while attending grandson’s baseball tournament at Ripken Experience- thankfully, we were away watching games most of the time we were there. No picnic table, fire pit or grill. Bathhouse permanently closed and very tight quarters. Had to park truck where our awning would go. Had kids tearing around on golf carts and scooters. On the afternoon of our last day we had to deal with noise of gas pressure washer from apparent commercial pressure washing business washing campers at 2 different sites. This is definitely against their rules but I was told it was a friend of the owner and there wasn’t really anything they could do. Definitely advise against staying here.

I researched all of the area campgrounds before landing on Riverbend. Sure, there are some campgrounds that are newer or have a few more amenities, but usually it was reflected in high prices. We spent a week at Riverbend during the month of October. We were fortunate to have a creekside site and was able to enjoy the Little Pigeon River throughout the stay. Also, practically zero highway noise even though we are less than 1/2 mile off the parkway.
I would absolutely dismiss the concerning reviews listed below. They almost scared me off. So glad I decided to give it a try. The sites may be close, but not as close as others I have found in Pigeon Forge. We had plenty of room. 80% of the sites are level concrete pads with a picnic table. Some of the sites not on the creek are gravel with no picnic table. All sites with the exception of a select few have full hookups, including Wi-Fi and cable.
Like some others have noted, their bath house is closed and they do not have a pool. If that is important to you, you should probably look elsewhere. But they do have onsite washers and dryers, ice, and trash cans located in the middle of the park. And the staff could not be more nice or accommodating.
The nightly cost is also very reasonable. We were able to stay for $45 per night, plus they offer military/first responder discounts. We look forward to many more stays at Riverbend in the years ahead.

Very friendly staff, pleasant stay, quiet. Clean laundry room, very close to everything but doesn't feel like your in town. Unless kids had bikes to ride or like to fish kids will be bored here. No bell and whistles, just a nice camp after a day of tourist adventure. There are Canadian geese so goose poop was abundant. There are trout in the stream if your wondering. They have multiply trash CANS that are empty daily and get full quick if busy. Many pull through and some for the very Large class A with trailers to match.
They have WiFi, but it's not reliable if you need to work online, our Verizon was decent.

Quiet and relaxing. Close enough to all of the hiking and attractions but no road noise to deal with. Bring your fishing poles and tubes for the river!
