Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on February 23, 2020Arrived at night, looking for a cheap good spot to rest on our way to Corpus Christi. Was good for that but I would not make it a destination. It is a little county/city park along the river. Downside is a massive oil refinery across the river with lots of light, noise and air pollution (Probably water too). Prices are reasonable at $5 for dry camp & $15 for full hookups. Park has some low trees, potholes in roads and could get tight for bigger RV’s

We stayed here instead of finding a free spot on our way to Corpus Christi only because they had showers. It was fine when we showed up around 5pm, but there was no host so we went ahead and paid the full $15 even though it looked like we could pay $5 for a tent site (we are camping out of our suv so don’t require an rv site).
It’s next to a loud oil refinery and kinda smells, but the bathrooms were clean enough and the water got pretty warm when we tested it to make sure we’d be able to get a good shower in the morning.
But when we woke up at 9 to go clean up. The bathroom was padlocked. We needed to get to Corpus Christi and didn’t have time to wait, and with no camp host we were SOL. So we left and went to the Loves travel stop 5 min up the road to pay another $12 per person to shower there. I’ll be calling Tips to complain tomorrow, and luckily I paid by check so hopefully they’ll do something to make this right.

Parked under a shade tree and fished for catfish and drum(gaspergoo). The road is a little rough, but it's a park...slow down. I use solar so only paid $5. Full hookups are available for $15.
The shower room is closed but with planning ahead, you can get the lock combination. This makes for a safer shower room so I like that it's locked.
There can be alligators. I've caught 2 there under 6 feet. No big deal. I've stayed multiple times when visiting TR and always no problems.
Just pick a spot and park. Walk to the East side of the shower building and put your payment in the slot. More honor system than anything.

We stopped here after two weeks on the beaches of Padre Island. Just needed a night or two of electricity to vacuum out all of the sand and this fit the bill.
A small city park right across the river from a noisy oil refinery. The refinery runs 24/7. But $15 was a steal and we were able to do what we needed to do.
The park is mostly quiet with what looks like a few long timers camped here but they were also quiet and kept to themselves.
Overall a decent stop.

I would have stayed here. $15 includes power, sewer and water. Bathrooms and showers are locked. Shabby park. I don’t need power or water or dump. If the shower was unlocked, I would have stayed.
