Be aware you do need to make a free reservation to get the code for the gate.
This was my first time boondocking in my van with my partner. It was a great place for newbies as we felt very secure and safe. You need to have the code for the gate to enter the area and the gate is locked all the time.
We did have a little confusion at first. When you type Washburn Equestrian Area into Google Maps it takes you to Oakridge Equestrian area. After a little bit, we figured out that Washburn Equestrian area was just down the road.
This campsite had, at the time (February 16th, 2019), 3 picnic tables and 3 fire rings, and a porter potty. It seems that porter potty is emptied frequently. It was not that bad when we got there and was emptied on our last day.
There is a main road near the campsite, but I did not find it too loud or disturbing. There is some forest between the campsite and the road.
It was a very secluded and peaceful place to camp.

It was close to the road, but still secluded. A bit of road noise. We were alone. It was great for boondocking our pop up

Access off the main road was easy, just follow the instructions on your permit email to get in the gate. There are 4 somewhat defined sites here, all with fire rings and 3 with picnic tables. There was non-potable water and a porta pottie on site. The ground was level and there was plenty of room between us and our neighbors.
There's a Publix, Shell gas, park with walking trail and playground, & a few restaurants just 4 minutes up the road. If you rely on ATT, you may want to use a booster, as it was just a little spotty at times. Otherwise, I highly recommend this site!

This campground was really nice for being free! There was only about 4 sites and you have to book ahead to get the code to the lock. There was horse trails and hiking trails that were very enjoyable to walk. We brought our 39”11 foot fifth wheel in here no issues!
